I am a author in training and I only write for myself and my friends, but the book about Self-Editing for Fiction Writers sounds right up my alley. I basically want to help myself become a better writer and want to feel good about it. Thanks for the recommendation.
Added to the Fantasy resource shelf because I think this shelf should be more general resources on writing specifically.

For this shelf I am looking for books on writing in general. Books about how to construct characters, plot arcs and prose.
Also to be considered but not necessarily accepted are books on how to write for specific mediums such as screenplays or comics. Those will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
