VAMPIRES DON'T SPARKLE discussion

This is #2 in a intense story. Laura must come to terms with her role & loss from 13 coffins. Listed as a historical vampire tale it does not disappoint. I would give it 3 fangs. Its a good story & I definitely HAD to know what was going to happen but the story didn't seem to flow as well as #1 did. #2 did not cause me to run out & purchase #3; i keep looking but just don't have the ummpphhh to buy it.

Good review, Carla. I can't wait to read 99 Coffins. I like Wellington's take on vampires. I actually talked to him on facebook. He's a really cool guy.

i LOVED 13 bullets... I've re-read it twice now (once right before 99 coffins so I remembered it well) I've read his zombie island also & enjoyed it but 99 coffins just didn't do it for me... Read it... maybe you will see something i don't... cant wait for your review =)

Oh I loved 13 Bullets too. It was very creepy and disturbing...in a good way...lol. I have purchased all the books in the series so I'm dedicated to finishing them all.

Sounds like one worth checking out!!

Just finished Melabeth the vampire... I'd say 3.9 bloody fangs. Strong story line in a new series by a new author.. a 15yr old rape/murdered rises in a new generation & sets out to avenge herself. A few laughs and a FUNNY cast of characters make for a quick readMelabeth the Vampire

I will have to give 13 Bullets a go sounds great.

I LOVED that one! Alan Ryker is an author to keep an eye on, for sure. Haven't had the chance to read the sequel yet, BLOOD TELLS TRUE.

ok so this is a 5star book but only a 1 fanger... NOT enough blood & guts & the vamp is well a sissified old dude who I like but is NOT a fav vamp.

HAHAHAHA where do I start... I LOVED this book... the heroine is a NUTBAG klutz with tourettes (ok not really but the cussing is so COLORFULL I've stolen a few to use in my own foul-mouthed) who messes up left & right. and in a H.O.T. FBI dude, AN old, stuffy, proper vamp, a few witches and some mundanes... you will literally LOL!!

another good book but still not a great fanger... maybe a 2 for more vamp action with cool "powers" & a gross scene where the hybrid eats her own fetus ..

just finished total girlie/vamps are cute & would be awesome lovers. maybe a 1 fang for complete lack of gore, blood, awesome powers or anything super vamp like. The heroine was extremely likable & the story kept me involved & hoping Karen will write a #2

hummm ODD. best way to describe it. I haven't come across a "western vampire" story & another review totally had be intrigued. Maybe the western part was too odd as I grew up reading my dads old Louis L'Amour books.

so i just finised and while the vamps are not the major otherworlder in this story they were creepy, rude, & MEAN just how I like em. book #2 hints at a bigger vamp role. ill keep ya posted =)

WOW new take on the vamp tale. Antonios is a BAD ASS who will torture when needed & is not afraid of his "dark gift." The idea of a farm is so funny but effective. looking forward to Byproduct

OK where do i even start. RANDOM. ODD. this book mixed history we all know with an asinine plot that had me rolling my eyes at times. The ending.. are you kidding me? LAME. I am a HUGE vampire fan but this book was so, whats the word, wrong. That's it. Wrong. At no point did you believe it but the mesh of TRUE history was so seamless that you start to question the possibility. I did find myself having to know what happened (when I always knew the ending).

I'm surprised you didn't like it. That's one of my favorite vampire books. Well, "to each their own" as David Carridine would say.

ok this book gets ZERO fangs. the only vampire in the story did not speak & was only on ONE page. the story of Dwight & his friends was ok and the "creepy" things that happened in a 16 yr olds mind was funny (take ya back to your own childhood & memories)

That does sound like a awful book, Carla. I have heard of that book before though and the author is supposed to be well known. Well, sorry to hear you didn't like it, Carla. Just a suggestion for the future; when a book is that bad...I don't give it "zero fangs"...if I hate it that much I give it "a wooden stake". LOL.

this book was a 1st for me. vampire stripper/prostitutes. the number of characters was starting to get out of hand but i truly had to find out what happened. the ending ehhhh not so tidy & all resolved. recommend? yes.

this book contained vampires but they were secondary characters. They were ruthless, uncaring, dead during the day, religious symbols do not effect them, day light will kill them, garlic gives them an allergic reaction, they do not sparkle but "glow"

I can see it now... I came into my room, but knew something was wrong when I saw a glow coming from under my bed. I slowly backed out of my room, avoiding a vampire attack......... No doesn't work. By the way both of your books are being mailed Thursday!!

Jimmy Black & his bff Greg are vampire detectives. 1 wears a "utility belt" along with his all black outfit (fat dude in spandex makes a girl say bleh) the vampires do NOT sparkle (ok just 1 time but it was a joke at twilight from a Fairy Queen with a sense of humor) they kick butt, make ya laugh, the blood loss/gore is minimal so they are at most 2 fang books BUT I have read them ALL each in a day...

They r so funny!!! On #4 now ... Abbys whining that she wishes she could sparkle like the west coast vampires hahahaha (shes a 20 something coed who got drained in the last book)
