Aly walked into the Country Club, she was meeting her parents. She was extremely nervous because she hadn't seen either of them in almost a year. "Oh well," she thought to herself, "Better go ahead and get this over with."
She hoped that this wouldn't last long, she wanted to walk Alpha (her dog) down on the beach before it got dark.
Gage walked out of his father's office, a dark scowl covered his handsome face. His father could always find a way to piss him off. Oliver Woods, was the owner of the country club and was an arrogant, selfish man. Sadly, Gage had the unfortunate pleasure of calling him dad.
Aly was so lost in her thoughts she didn't even notice the guy walking in front of her. She looked up too late, and ended up running right into him."Oh my, I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attention . . . I'm sorry," she blushed as she repeated herself.
"It's fine, don't stress about it." Gage said running a hand through his artfully messed up hair. He wore his country club uniform which consisted of tan cargo shirts and a white polo. His attire didn't exactly match his tattooed arms or chest.
Aly took in his appearance, she couldn't help but to notice how attractive he was. She noticed his tattoos, they were different, but she liked them. She also noticed his uniform, she had just found a reason to come to the Country Club more often."Thanks, I'm Aylsta Cousland, but everyone calls me Aly," she gave him a dazzling smile as she extended her hand to him.
Aly resisted a frown as he quickly removed his hand from hers. She was guessing that from his expression that she had made him uncomfortable."Woods . . . Woods? Where have I heard that name before?" she suddenly thought to herself.
Then it dawned on her, "Your dad owns the country club right?"
((How about their dads were best friends in college?))
"Yeah he does, built it like 20 years ago or something." Gage didn't know all the detail and didn't really want too. His father and him had some differences. ((Errr sure.))
Aly heard the hint of bitterness in his tone. Parental problems, she could definitely relate to that. She hadn't see her parents in almost a year, and now they wanted "bonding time".She pushed those thoughts from her head and smiled politely, "I think our dads were friends in college."
She laughed and replied, "My dad isn't the type to have friends either." He had a cute smirk, Aly wondered what a full blown smile would look like on him.
"I'm not going to get you into trouble by talking to you, am I?" she hoped not, she was enjoying talking to him.
"My parents are great parents as well, I haven't seen them in almost a year. They own their own law firm so their always busy," she bit her lower lip at the information she just revealed. Aly normally doesn't talk about her parents to people she just met.
"Have you not seen them in a year by choice?" Gage said, raising a brow. His mother had gone off the deep end using pills and alcohol to mask her pain after finding out about her husbands affair. That was six years ago. Both his parents refuse to get a divorce even though neither one of them are happy.
"No, I lived in New York with them until...," she paused she didn't like to think about the break in, "Well, we just had a difference of opinion, so I moved in with my grandparents."Aly shifted uncomfortably, frowning slightly as she thought back to the break-in...
A little over two years ago, a man broke into Aly's parents' house in New York. Neither of her parents were home. Aly locked herself in her closet and waited in there for almost 30 minutes until the police showed up.
Luckily, the man never seen Aly because the police found a gun on him. The man had a rap sheet for armed robbery, and had killed people before.
She had nightmares for months and begged her parents to move into another house. But they refused. It was like they didn't care, so she packed up and moved to Texas with her grandparents.
((sorry so long lol))
Aly looked up at him and gave him a small smile, "You too, huh? It sucks when the child has to be more mature and parent-like than their own parents."
Gage wasn't saying he was mature by any means but he did have to take charge on more than one occasion. "Yeah my parents randomly decided they didn't want to be parents any more and I have been raising my sister ever since."
Aly's eyes softened at the information Gage just told her. She was an only child herself, so she couldn't imagine trying to raise a younger sibling."I'm sorry to hear that, no one should have to go through something like that. But if it means anything, your sister is lucky to have a brother like you." she replied, Gage seemed like a great guy.
"You probably know who she is." Everyone who had ever come to Immortal (Even for a short time) knew who Payton was. "Her name is Payton, she's 17."
"I haven't met her yet. This is the only place I've been to so far. So you're actually the first person I've met from Immortal Beach. Although I'm definitely looking forward to meeting her," Aly smiled at him.Aly had never really had a friend that was a girl. Or many friends at all for that matter, it was hard since she moved a lot. And since the incident her grandparents hadn't let her out of their sights.
Until now that is, so she was looking forward to making as many friends as possible.
((Sorry I'm multitasking ))"Yeah You'll meet her eventually." Gage said rubbing the back of his neck
((Lol, it's alright))"Well that's good to hear. So what do you do here, if you don't mind me asking?" she hoped she wasn't making him late.
"I'm do multiple things. Some times I'm the bar tender, " Even though he was underage, "I work outside mostly, teaching golf lessons or swimming lessons. The thing I do most is Life Guard, but that's more of a summer gig."
"Hmm you don't look old enough to be a bartender," she joked with him, "I'm not much of a swimmer, I might have to join one of your lessons."Aly smiled at him.
"Do you enjoy being a bartender? Having drunk people tell you their sob stories must be fascinating," she giggled, noting the irony as she was pretty much doing the same thing.
"I'm not, I'm nineteen." Gage said, "I don't really tend to pay attention when people tell me their stories. I kinda zone out," Gage said, shifting on his feet.
"Oh, I see...," Aly bit her lower lip, Gage seemed very uncomfortable around her. She didn't know whether she should let him get to work or not. She was enjoying talking to him; but from what she gathered by his body language was that he didn't seem quite interested...((Should we bring their parents in, or something?))
((He's just not a people person:) He's cool once you get to meet him))"Hey so I have a shift out at the golf course in like five minutes, you can come keep me company if you want." He asked, a small blushed peeked through his tanned face. If you weren't really looking, you wouldn't be able to see it.
((Sure, if you want too))
"Sure!," she laughed when she realized how eager she just sounded, "Anything to get out of meeting up with my parents.""Well, nice to see you too Aylsta," the deep voice from behind her, made her pale.
She quickly turned around and noticed both of her parents standing there. They didn't look happy.
"Hello, I'm Alex, and this is my wife Eve. And who, may I ask, are you?" Alex asked looking past his daughter to Gage.
"I'm Gage Woods. My family owns the Club." Gage said introducing himself to whom he guested were Aly's parental units.
Alex beamed at him, "Ah! You must be (what's Gage's dad's name lol?)'s son! It's a pleasure to meet you, your dad and I used to be friends back in college. Where is the old devil anyways?"Aly looked from her parents to Gage. She wasn't sure what to do, knowing her parents...well this was going to be quite embarrassing. She started shifting on her feet, and twirling her hair. She had always started twirling her hair whenever she got nervous.
"Well this is going to turn out wonderful!" she sarcastically thought to herself.
((I think I said it was Oliver on the character creations, but I don't remember....))"Yes, I'm his oldest child. I have a sister who is seventeen." Gage said quickly. "My dads probably in his office...." He trailed off as he saw his dad leave his office followed by a blonde with fake boobs who quickly left in the other direction. Oliver walked casually over to where gage stood and smiled politely at his companions. He didn't recognize Alex since it'd been fifteen years since they last spoke or saw each other.
Eve's eyes slightly narrowed when she saw the barbie walkout of Oliver's office with him. It quickly masked, you wouldn't have noticed it unless you were looking when it happened."Well, well. Oliver Woods, it's been a while you old dog, you!" Alex playfully patted Oliver on the back.
Aly quietly gulped, yeah, she was right. This was going to be awkward...
Old dog? Gage mentally laughed at the guy in front of him. He crossed his arms across his chest and watched the disaster take place. "Alex, How have you been." Oliver said, a bit less enthusiastically.
"Good, good. Eve and I have just won a big case with our law firm, and came to Immortal Beach to celebrate. This place is very nice, Ollie ((his old nickname for Oliver??)) I'm impressed. I'm also impressed with your son here, who seemed to be getting acquainted with my daughter." he didn't seem to notice Oliver's cool demeanor, as best friends in college he expected to pick their friendship right back up.Aly froze at the mention of her and Gage talking. She prayed he wouldn't get in trouble for it. Hopefully, this would turn out okay...hopefully.
"Yeah I own a couple other clubs around the country, but I stay in Immortal beach because this club is my favorite." Oliver explained.
"Very nice! Had I known you lived here I might have made plans to visit earlier. You remember my wife, Eve, right? And this is my daughter Aly, she's going to follow in our footsteps and become a lawyer just like us. Aren't you, honey?" Alex's hand rested on Aly's shoulder as he waited for her reply."Of course, father," Aly gave him a forced smile, likely you couldn't really tell it was forced.
"Haha, such a dutiful daughter, isn't she?" he patted her shoulder lightly and let go.
"Gage is getting the country club after I retire, but I wish he would go on to be something better like a lawyer or doctor." Oliver said giving his son a pointed look. Gage had to force himself to not roll his eyes in front of them all. His father knew that Gage wanted to be a musician. But Oliver didn't approve of that kind of life style.
"Hmm, well I'm always looking for interns! Gage should definitely apply, we could use someone like him. Plus my daughter has seemed to take a real shine to your boy," Alex chuckled as he added the last bit.Aly's eyes widened and she felt her face turn flaming red. She knew this would end up embarrassing, of course her dad would do something like this. All she wanted to do was to find a nice big rock to hide under and never come out.
"Alex!" Eve playfully slapped his arm, speaking up for the first time since they arrived at the country club.
"Ehhh..."Awkward.., Gage cleared his throat and uncrossed his tattooed arms, "Well I have to get to my shift..." He ran his hand through is messy hair before turning and walking towards the golf course exit. "It was great seeing you again Alex, But I have some business to attend to. Eve you look amazing as usual, it was great seeing you also," He kissed her cheek and slapped Alex's shoulder, "Lets get drinks soon, on me!" He said walking back towards his office.
"Definitely, we have some catching up to do, Ollie." Alex called after him.Eve cleared her throat and turn to her daughter, "Well Aly we're going to head to the house. We'll see you later tonight dear."
Aly just nodded, and watched as they left. Then she turned and ran to the golf course. She just hoped Gage would actually talk to her after that horrible meeting with their parents...
((Move to golf course? I can start lol.))
