I must reread Boy's Life now...lately I've developed quite a passion for coming-of-age- stories (and will definitely pick up the 2 mentioned above by Rick). I credit my new interest to the highly-recommended Deep Night and the novella Joe Hart http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...

Great so little time...so many books.
Great so little time...so many books.

Mainly selected because a dear friend to many and an author who was a member of this group passed away sadly, Rick Hautala loved this story.
In memory of him we shall read this tale.
He said about this book a while back to me
Rick Hautala: "Of course, anyone writing a "coming of age" story (myself included--guilty as charged if you've read my MISS HENRY'S BOTTLES and REUNION) is harking back to the gold standard of Bradbury's SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COME ... which harks back to the original CoA stories--TOM SAWYER and HUCK FINN. Still, McCammon has a true masterpiece here ... and in some ways--in SOME ways, I say--even (gulp) better than Bradbury... Dare I even say that?"
