Hector Himeros (himeros) | 156 comments Hi everyone. I'm Hector Himeros. Actually I'm an M/M erotica writer but I also design my own cover arts. My latest art is for my upcoming book: Timeless - Titanic Chapter. I made a series of character posters for this story which I will post one by one later.

The story itself is far from being finished. But I can assure you it won't be as boring as other so-called Titanic-themed M/M erotica ;) coz it has twists, steamy scenes, romance, supernatural, and a long plot which extends to several books!

PS: I'm also available for cover art commission if you like my art style...

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I'm Roger M. Kean, author of A Life Apart and the cover for the novel is by my partner, the artist Oliver Frey, who is also known as Zack. It's the third done by producing a "rough" pencil sketch on paper, then scanning the small original in at something like four times enlargement, before coloring on computer.

message 4: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments And the previous covers in the same technique for Thunderbolt and Felixitations.

message 5: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments And more artwork covers from Zack. Raw Recruits is available now and the other two are due for publication in print and ebook from German gay publisher Bruno Gmünder during 2013, Blood and Lust in the summer, Warrior's Boy in November. The books are illustrated with more than 40 b/w drawings from Oliver Frey's pen and brush.

Macky (mactut) Wow guys all these covers are fantastic.

@ Hector... Love your interpretation, mysterious and atmospheric! Good luck on finishing it, it sounds like the start of something special.

@ Roger.. Loving Oliver's art work, its really powerfull. The cover on Felicitations is Stunning, I'd have that on my wall ... If I was rich enough! The last three remind me of those fantastic pulp fiction covers from the 5o's, lurid and deliciously debauched! So talented! I would kill to be able to produce drawings like that.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Most exceedingly recommended is Zack the Art jam packed with steamy hot guys doing the most deliciously nasty things with their boy bods but my favorite part is Oliver Frey's rendering of the faces on these guys as they experience ecstasy; the faces in his art are the most expressive anyone has ever done and cannot be outdone.

For those who also enjoy fantasy there is The Fantasy Art Of Oliver Frey by Roger Kean.

Both books are available at Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk

Danni | 248 comments Both Hot For Boys The Sexy Adventures Of Rogue by Zack and Bike Boy by Zack would take pride of place on my bookshelf if l could get away with it but unfortunately they have to be tucked away behind some big book about gardening to ensure the kids don't get their grubby mits on them :-(

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Another cover by Zack (Roger's life partner Oliver Frey) is this one from Roger Kean's Young Adult book Avenging Khartoum. It is a particular favorite of mine because of the extremely handsome British gentleman in background and next to him his very attractive, brilliant and heroic son.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

In addition to being a world-renowned, legendary artist in gay male fiction from his work in Boys of Vice City, Boys of Disco City, and Boys of Two Cities along with his work in magazines and graphic novels, Oliver Frey is also an excellent illustrator as seen in this cover for Living in Ancient Rome.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments This is Oliver Frey's cover image for a British 1990s magazine called FEAR (Horror, Fantasy, and Science-Fiction) which had a major article on the life and work of the genius author Ray Bradbury, and it's one of my favorite montage covers of Oliver's. While not gay in theme, there is something about it…

Hector Himeros (himeros) | 156 comments description

This is Behemoth. Hopefully, I can write about him soon. I plan to write M/M series revolving around Clavicula Salomonis Regis (Lesser Key of Solomon) with a touch of magic. My main character - a Demon Master - will have to capture all demons but he can also summon them to help him do things or attack other demons. Behemoth is one of the demons he'll capture.

Unlike Judeo-Christian version, Behemoth in my version is the demon of strength (not gluttony). Behemoth originally created by the Hebrew deity: Yahweh/Jehovah as a couple of land beats however Yahweh mercilessly slaughtered Behemoth's wife. Since then, he vowed to avenge her death by joining Sataniel's army. Behemoth was worshiped in India as the deity Ganesha before he was captured by King Solomon.

One time in Victorian era, Behemoth escaped the Clavicula but was badly injured. He turned himself into a flesh and blood human to avoid detection from the holder of Solomon's Key. However, because he was injured, he ended up as a disfigured man. The world knew Behemoth at that time as The Elephant Man - John Merrick.

Each time Behemoth escapes the Clavicula is always to find his reincarnated soulmate. No matter if his soulmate has been born as a woman or a man, Behemoth will always find her/him. At the start of my story, Behemoth is living with a young man as a gay couple before he is captured by the current Demon Master.

The overall plot is still hazy and may be revised. But for the moment, that is how I picture Behemoth.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Boys of the Fast Lane , fourth in the series featuring English boy Mike Smith and American Gil Graham, has just gone to publisher Bruno Gmünder's production department, ready to be shipped to South Korea for printing. It will be on sale in paperback and (er hopefully at the same time) ebook formats in July.

Zack's cover art:

The story is set at the beginning of 1982—the blurb:

The Boys of Vice City, Disco City, and Two Cities are back in the fast lane.

Reunited with Mike Smith in London, Gil Graham attempts to pursue his career in movies through writing scripts, while Mike's younger brother Will pursues Gil with all the guile and determination he possesses in abundance.

Mike has his own problems when teenage heartthrob popster turned movie star Nathan Cliffe turns his off-screen performance
into an erotic dance for Mike's heart — and something below his belt. What can Mike do? When the star commands he must obey. Gil isn't happy, the movie brat comes between them, and it's not helped by Mike's teasing when Gil sells a script…for an unlikely project.

Against the frantic backdrop of London's gay scene, Gil and Mike must confront the strains that ambition, work, and outright jealousy place on their hard-won love. Will they be up to the challenge or will the frenzy of temptation tear them apart forever?

****************************
Due to the nature of the Complaints Department, I can't share any of the, er… hotter illustrations from Zack's pen, and there are over 50 of them in the book, but here are three:

Gil and Mike flank the brattish pop star Nathan Cliffe above the egregious villain, Gerald Mundy

Mike is starting to fall for teenager Nathan…

In the climactic car chase, Gil—who's never been behind the wheel of a right-hand-drive English car, struggles to navigate London's night time streets with the dubious help of rent-buy Steve, and the unhelp of a zonked out of his brains Nathan, while Mike lies unconscious on the back seat, blissfully unaware that Gil is driving his beloved Alfa Romeo Giulietta, "Horny."

If we could get Zack's expressively erotic drawings with his penetrative insight in portraying gay sex from top to bottom on a regular basis, I'd be more than happy to declare the group 'adult' and close it to non-group members.

Hector Himeros (himeros) | 156 comments Just finish another version of cover art for my currently-written novel Timeless - Titanic Chapter. The story is so long I have to split it. I hope readers will love it. It's certainly different from other so-called Titanic-themed M/M erotica.

Timeless - Titanic Chapter

The men from left to right are Ian Coulter (rich man's son), Frank Millson (stoker), Terrence Strain (butler), Edmund Fox (Chief Officer). Ian's, Terrence's, Edmund's costumes are photoshopped.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments To brighten up the day and hopefully ease the pain of seeing [deleted user] everywhere, and because Bully Macky said I should, I'm posting a few paintings (all oils on hardboard) I did years ago. I think the first one is cheerful…

"Pee-Yah! – Chris Berry Playing Bach" (1974) A friend who was a BBC TV producer and would-be cellist.

"The Garden" (1973) My parents' garden in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire (i.e., outer London)

"The Wham-O Frisbee Champions of 1972" (1972) A schoolfriend and his wife on Parliament Hill Fields, Hampstead, London.

"Portrait of Ian" (1973. For those who have read any of the Boys of Vice City series of illustrated novels, my bestest mate of the time was the model for the Mike Smith character, cept he wasn't at all gay… even if it looks like I might have wished he was!

Just add to Jerry Beale's thought and complete the quote from Hunky Love Lucas, "Oliver Frey is also an excellent illustrator as seen in this cover for Living in Ancient Rome."

Of course everyone knows Oli also did the cover and inside artwork for the best and most interesting to read history of the Roman imperial line Roger Kean's The Complete Chronicle Of The Emperors Of Rome.

For some reason Oli does all the covers for Roger's books. Roger must have negotiated a big discount on the art.

I hope Oliver doesn't see Roger called him Olive or Roger is sleeping on the couch tonight. ☺
