So, do you usually review books?

message 2: by Lo (new)

Lo (darkalleycookies) | 18 comments Yeah, but lately I've been really lazy with it. Before I'd crank out a review on every book--now it's about once every three weeks.

That used to be what I do, but if I don't review the book right away, I'll never do it, so I almost always review the books now :)

Ha ha, smart! I should probably do that more often--half the time I wanna review something, I get this awesome one in my head and then I sit in front of my computer and nothing comes out. Ah well.

Same here, but I have written some pretty long, detailed reviews in the past.

I know, I'm the same way. I wrote a review for a book I had rated 3.5 stars about two weeks after finishing it, and I was thinking...wait, what didn't I like about this again? xD

coconutsnbutts (♫ נєѕѕι¢α ♪) | 26 comments I try to review the books I think stand out, whether good or bad. But I've not been on Goodreads very long so I don't have that many reviews.

message 13: by Lo (new)

Lo (darkalleycookies) | 18 comments I do, but only on the books that I feel the need to review.

I recently wrote a really long one that I thought was pretty good, but my computer malfunctioned and I lost it. So, I didn't end up writing that review. ugh.

Yeah, I know right? It was my first review in like a month too. Grr.

Oh well. It was the author's loss! Heh...heh..even though...he's a double-time best-selling author...erm..

Haha, that's so true! Definitely the author's loss xD

I usually review all books that I read, unless it was just completely unbearable and I'm bound to say something really mean about it :P

I don't like to say really rude things about books that I really disliked, because, ultimately, I still believe that the author put a considerable amount of work into writing the book and I just feel really guilty about ranting about it.

message 32: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 8 comments The chances of me reviewing are sort of like a game of darts for me. If I really, really loved the book, I sit down and take the time to write a really long review. Most of the time, however, I finish the book, stop thinking about it, and move on. I find that not writing a review right after reading it makes me lose all interest in ever writing one. That being said, I have a bad habit of reading an entire book in one go (I can't sleep on an unfinished book), so oftentimes I read two or three books back to back in one day and am too pooped by the end to write.

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

I used to review books on my own personal blog ages ago, but life got in the way and I just didn't have time. I've been really bad about not reviewing here. I rate books all the time and when I go to review it, I get so caught up reading other people's reviews that I just lose motivation to do it. And then I inevitably see a review that says everything I was going to say anyway so I think, "What's the point?" Writing "ditto" on every post would be really boring, lol

Riya I didn't review books until I came to goodreads and now whenever I finish a book I try to review it (although it doesn't always work out)

message 50: by Mallory (new)

Mallory (malbookreviewer) | 16 comments I review when I feel like it. Usually when I review I try not to make it very long though. Unless I love the book or hate it with a burning passion (I review them here on goodreads). I rather discuss the book with others that have read it ,so that's why I made my own group on goodreads and also join other groups hoping to meet more people that have read those same books and what they thought about it.
