The epilogue shows the poem Lennie wrote to Joe. She wanted to get back with him and wrote it. It shows what happened to the letter. I don't remember much of what it said but she was kind of embarrassed that she wrote all her feelings and Joe read them.
Exactly! I didn't want it to end it like that. I wish she'd write a second book or something related to this. Because i'm completely in love with this book.
well they did end up together... it did kind of feel like it was missing something but it was a relatively good ending ;p

hi omg it's too late to reply but i feel like what happened in the epilogue was that Lennie is still embarrassed about the letter she made and remember at the end of the book when she asked Joe where the letter is and Joe doesn't want to give it to her? I think in the epilogue she eventually found the letter then ripped it and Joe found it in the trash and put the pieces back together again ..and again ...and again until he just framed it. I don't know I would like to believe Joe and Lennie didn't break up and they were just being the cute bickering couple they are.

They did not break up. It was an epilogue where Joe and Lennie are back together, and in love with each other.
hey I've read the book a million times what does that word dildonic mean? I've searched it up alot and cant find a answer
I also assumed Lennie tried to get rid of the poem because she was so embarrassed about it. And to Jazmond Webb I think it just means dildo-like, again just due to her embarrassment
I think Lennie made up the word 'dildonic' because lame wasn't the right word to express how she felt about the poem.

She realizes that the Lennie House Plant died because it was the "old her". She feels that now she has gone through a rebirth. She is someone new.
