It's time to push up the sleeves of those leather jackets and dig in!

Rosina | 1800 comments LOL Love the smack talk. For sure would like help on creative ideas for challenges.

message 9: by Lára (new)

Lára About my shelf "manatee" for this challenge..
Only books (on this shelf) that are placed as "to-read" will be read for sure. I place books on "maybe" shelf so I´ll probably switch books on regular basic. Just so you know. I keep my shelves up to date so you may not even notice, but in case you do you´ll know what´s going on

Rosina | 1800 comments Holy gaucomole!!

I am still trying to recover from fits of laughter after reading Methods of Victory. Awesome job Oo!!

Hilarious. Love it.

message 11: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1800 comments I had posted this on our other thread but I think this one is suppose to be our main one.

My name is Zina and I live in Calgary Alberta Canada. I am a tax accountant. Married with 3 children and 8 grandchildren. Big milestone birthday for me this year is The big Five OH!!

I love reading and will read just about anything. i love mysteries and UF.

Currently reading Dead until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1) by Charlaine Harris . I love challenges and talking about books.

message 12: by Lára (new)

Lára ❀ Oo ❀, I should follow you Victory prepositions but some habits die hard. I always chose a book by everything except by page number. On my shelf for this challenge, most of the books are 200+ long, some more than 400 pages long. But I read relatively fast, so we´re going to win that way or another! We won´t let hobbits win this battle!

message 13: by Rosina (new)

Madilynn Hey Everyone!
My name is Madilynn, and I am the captain c:

Rhonda | 550 comments Good Morning!

I want whatever Oo is having. She's so energetic. I'm awake, but just a big blob on the couch.

I'll turn 49 later this month. UGH!!! I can't believe I'm that old. Whoda thunk it?! I'm happily married with 4 grown kids and 3 grandsons. My pic is a family photo taken at Xmas 2012! I'm really proud of my kids (of course).

I enjoy family stuff, reading, reading activities (challenges, read-a-thons), and knitting. I'm a huge pro football fan and find myself perhaps a little too involved with fantasy teams, etc.

I'm one of the captains for the team and am here to serve! I think we're going to have a blast.

We're still getting our ducks in a row, but we'll surely have some mini challenges etc., set up soon.

Im thinking it must be the herbal tea!!!

Rosina | 1800 comments Rhonda how do i post a pic?

message 26: by Rhonda (last edited Apr 14, 2013 06:23AM) (new)

Rhonda | 550 comments Omg - took me 90 minutes yesterday. First - don't follow the instructions here under (some html is ok). You'll need to upload your photo to photobucket. Then refresh the photobucket page - double check your pic is there. On the right of the screen it lists web addresses for your picture. Click in the one that says html and it will copy the link. Then, simply paste that link in the comment box and hit post!

Ah but while you all have been writing, reading and laughing over Methods of Victory, we on the Mango team have been adding completed books to our team's shelf. At last count, we have eight books done :)

message 34: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5367 comments Why does everyone want to attack SteVen??? :(

We should be teaming up against the BLUE ALLIANCE that has formed between all the Blue teams!!!

Zina, I'll be re-reading Dead Until Dark soon (as I read it four or five years ago and then didn't read any more of them) and I'm watching season one of True Blood right now!

Good luck LJB team.

Including today, that's 8 books in 7 days. If I succeed, then I shall hereby be dubbed the Ooster . If I lose, you have to read one of my least favourite books of all time The Legend of Sleepy Hollow . Take note, it's short and you could very possible enjoy it?

Interested ?

Remember, it's little old me, little ole loud mouth, one lone goal against a team? You game ?"

LOL If you lose, what 'deadline' did you have in mind for reading Sleepy Hollow? I wouldn't be able to read it until June, at the earliest, due to another challenge that I'm in :)

Well I'll be finishing a book this morning and then have a 500+page one I need to decide whether to continue with or not
The Diviners The Diviners (The Diviners, #1) by Libba Bray
Anyone read it? It is so popular and I am just STRUGGLING with it even though I'm almost half way now...

I haven't heard of it either Karen, but my motto is if you're not liking it, let it go. There are just too many books out there. Then again, if you stick it out, you might be rewarded with a great read after all. Life's a gamble...~sigh~

message 49: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1800 comments Karen

I started reading The Diviners about a month or so ago. I just couldn't get into it. Maybe it wasn't the time for me to read it. Sometimes I feel that books chose us to read them because they have a message for us to understand. Anyway I just couldn't read it might pick it up again in a few months.

I agree Rhonda, I usually do just ditch a book if I can't get into it, because it is so popular I keep thinking maybe if I just get a little further.... lol
Thanks Zina, nice to know I'm not an island. I may give it a bit more today and move on if its still not getting there for me. :D
