Goal: The first Team to read the next 2013 1,350 books, wins!

When: Starts April 12, 2013 and goes until a Team reaches 1,350 books read.

◈ Books must be />160 pages. NOTE: This number is lower than the first round!
For page number questions, go to NBRC thread: Page Numbers, Just Page Numbers.

◈ Audio books are allowed. (For page numbers, audiobooks should be compared
to the paper edition.)

◈ No graphic novels. (Sorry.)

◈ No little children's books.
We are talking Dr. Seuss, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
NOT C.S. Lewis The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
The latter WOULD be acceptable.

◈ Any genre counts.

◈ Including poetry.

◈ Any book in any language will count, as long as it meets the criteria.

◈ "Re-reads" will be allowed, if it has been six months since you have read the book.
This includes listening to the audio version, if you've already read the book.

◈ You must join the group challenge on the Home Page of our "sister group"Reserved for rules and team members list

Hello Blast Off Bronze! I am Monica and I am one of the captains!! Lizz will be our other captain. I participated in Round 1 and I am looking forward to having a great time reading and getting to know everyone! If you have any questions I will do my best to answer or research to find the answer.

Remember to make sure you are on the right team. If any one wants to through out some mini challenges you are more then welcome to do that.

Hello, I've joined! I'm really excited to start a new round because I wasn't very active in the last one. :)

Lilac welcome!! I too am excited to start this round. If you have finished any books on April 12 make sure they are on your shelf for this challenge. If you have any questions please ask and Lizz or I will try to answer them ASAP.

Bronze is a great color, we're starting this round already on the podium! Now we need to figure out how to push Gold and Silver off the podium and we're set.

Hey, ladies! On the challenge widget are we supposed to put our original goal (from when we started the first round) or what is left of our goal?

Your goal is what you set as your original goal. I hope that makes sense. You can use the same shelf as the first round. This round is looking at the date read so any books with a date of 4/12/13 or after will appear for round II.

Hey all! I'm checking in. I was in round 1 I read lots of books, but wasn't real active on the thread.It was a bit much on a team with so many people to keep up with.

Yay! Got my first one finished!

Is anyone going to be participating in Dewey's 24 hour read-a-thon the weekend after next? I'll be reading for as much of the 24 hours as possible so will probably get a few books finished. If anyone else from the team joined in it would have us off to a great start. :)

Lilac I may just join you in the Dewey read a thon. I have a book club book I need to finish by Wednesday so hopefully I will have one on my shelf soon.

Oooo I'd love to do that but unfortunately I have Girl Scout Camp all weekend that week. I will get next to nothing read that weekend.

Dawn have fun at the Girl Scout Camp. I remember doing them as a kid and as a parent.

I didn't get much reading done today since my daughter came down to visit. Hopefully I will be able to get some reading done tomorrow at work if possible.

We still have a few players that haven't checked in yet. If any of you are friends with them please let them know to join the sister group and that we miss them.

We are missing: Sophia, Stephanie, and Dawn(a different one) We have a few similar names in our group.

I am hoping to get done the Google Spreadsheet this week. I am new to it and still trying to figure things out. I also need to figure out how to share the Spreadsheet too.

Once we have your book shelf names we will be able to check them for accuracy. Also some teams have already posted some books. I am hoping to knock out some books this week. I think my exercising may have to suffer. Or maybe my house work.

I created and posted my first Google Spreadsheet! I was able to work on it while at work. I had to use Internet Explorer instead of Fire Fox. I got a lot of it done at work and will now be able to do checks while at work. That makes me so happy cause I was worried I would be spending more time at home on the computer just to keep up with it.

Is it somehow linked to our shelves, or is some one maunally entering in the books we read? Just wondering if I add a read book, how long until it shows on that sheet.

Here is the cliff notes version, let me know and I can add in some screen shots if you need them.

While looking at your spreadsheet in the upper right corner is a "File" button. Clicking that opens a drop down box.

The first thing on the dropdown box is share. Clicking that opens a pop up window.

The top of the Pop up window has the link code you can copy and paste.

The middle section is "Who has access"
The top line in that section has 3 options when you click on change: Public on the web, Anyone with the link, private. For GR stuff I usually use the Anyone with the link option. This allows us all to look but not touch.

The next line is the owner, the owner can add people in the bottom section. So then after you add another person you can edit them in the middle section to be able to also edit the sheet.

Dawn KNH I believe I did it correct. I did it last night except I used the Share button up in the right hand corner. It took a little bit of time but I did finally figure it out.

Thanks for taking the time to explain, Dawn (KNH), I know how to share a file or just allow those with the link to see...I was curious as to how you have something update automatically. However, Sonia says she is doing it manually.

I think it is possible to make it update, but that is beyond my data base skills.

I will have to create a test one and try to figure out how to make it update. I enjoy trying to learn things on and about computers. If I am able to figure it out I will let you guys know.

I went to my library's book sale today and bought 11 books for $6.00 now I have more books to add to my TBR pile. I was even checking to make sure that I could use them in this challenge.
