Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments Our author of the month for April is going to be Viktor Arnar Ingólfsson - his second book in English was just released not long ago

The Flatey Enigma
House of Evidence

Ellen (elliearcher) I think I bought Flatey when Amazon was offering it cheap-I certainly hope so. Better go and check!

message 3: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments I am really trying to do House of Evidence, but it isn't rocking my boat.

Dee (austhokie) | 652 comments It's not April yet missy!!! Lol

message 5: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments I know but it is a Prime book so I want to get it back.

message 6: by Diane S ☔ (new)

Diane S ☔ Have not read either one. I will see which one I can get the easiest.

message 7: by Susan (new)

Susan (susanthomas) I already have the Flatey Enigma on my kindle. I'll get to it as soon as I knock out a couple of other reads.

message 8: by Richard (new)

Richard | 39 comments My library keeps suggesting "Lord of the Dance" titles, even after I corrected my bad spelling. Looks like I'll need to buy one of these.

message 9: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments Nah, this author just isn't for me. I have 20% left to go in my kindle book and I just can't get through it, but am far enough along that I don't want to lose the review opportunity!

Which one are you reading?

message 11: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments House of Evidence. I am pushing through it now. I will still give it 3 stars, but I NEVER have to push this far with NN.

message 12: by Quentin (new)

Quentin (graskeggur) Haven't read that one. I read The Flatey Enigma in pretty much one sitting. Good stuff.

message 13: by Naomi, the Sanity Check (new)

Naomi (nblackburn) | 932 comments This one was slow as molasses. Another reviewer I think nailed it in saying that there was some stuff lost in the translation that made it that way. I don't know...all that I know is it took me several weeks to read it and I had to force myself to read it. That is unheard of with me when it comes to NN.

message 14: by Diane S ☔ (new)

Diane S ☔ Could not get into House of Evidence. May try The Flatey Enigma later in the month is I have time.

message 15: by Susan (new)

Susan (susanthomas) Finishing the Flatey Enigma today and have to say that I really don't care 'whodunnit' at this point. I absolutely hated the inclusion of all of the questions at the end of each brief chapter and ultimately decided to just skip them at about the halfway point in the book. If grasping the book relied on understanding those bits, then I'll be lost at the end. But as I said, I don't really care. Least favorite of all the Nordic/Scandinavian Noir types I've read!

message 16: by Susan (new)

Susan (susanthomas) Forgot to ask...when will we know who will be Author of the Month for May?
