Firelight discussion

Go and fly, but don't get caught.

Glenda arrived at the cliff over the lake and sat at the edge and admired the water's beauty.

Saff sat on the sandy shore and wrapped her arms around her knees. She looked out at the water and wished she could fly during the day, but the pride needed her in case hunters came and some of the elders had threatened to bind her wings if she tried to leave in daylight hours.

Glenda wished she could fly over the water, but being even this close made her Draki feel week, "why do i have to be a fire Draki? i want to be able to swim again.."
she looks down to the shore line and sees someone down there, she debates on introducing herself..
'but what if she doesn't like you?' a voice whispers to Glanda.
she wonders if its her Draki talking to her, or if shes just going insane..

The ends of her long white hair were getting sandy but Saff didn't really care, the only reason she didn't cut it was because her old guardian said it looked better long.

Glenda looked down off the cliff and considered jumping, she didn't know what would happen if a fire draki jumped into a lake. but would she really want to find out?
she wanted to fly more then anything, but she new it was against the rules, it was something they stressed silvery.

Saff noticed something out of the corner of her eye and turned her head towards it. She frowned, she had thought she knew all the darki's in the pride but here was an unfamiliar one; though it was possible they were just one of the humans but it was doubtful.

Glenda twirled a strand on her long red hair, "should i? no one would know.."
'you would, and what if you get caught? they'd clip your wings, then who would protect Thundra?'
the voice made a point.
she looked back down at the girl along the shore and saw she was looking right back at her.

Saff stared at the person, and was barely able to discern it was a girl. Perhaps about her own age.

Glenda didn't know what to do, did she run? stay? fly?
she could feel her Draki trying to surface, but she tried to suppress it. she hadn't flown in moths, but what is that girl was a hunter? what if she was human?

Saff continued to look at the girl and it crossed her mind that the girl could possibly be a hunter but she dismissed the thought. According to what she had heard most hunters were male, and it was unlikely a lone female huntress would happen upon the lake so close to the pride.

Glenda bit her lip. she panicked. she stood at the end of the clift. she looked down first to make sure there wasn't any sharp rocks, then she gracefully fell towards the water.
she allowed her Draki to emerge seconds before hitting the water.
her cloths were torn to peaces and she was full draki by the time she broke threw the water.
the water stung her magma colored skin, she held her break for as long as she could and lunged her body as far from the cliff as she could.
when she emerged she could no longer see the girl. she sighed, "it burns," she mumbled.
'that's what you get for swimming in draki form'
Glenda turned back to her human form. her cloths were still wearable, but it looked like she had been malled by a bear.
she couldn't help but wonder, did the girl see her in Draki form?

So she was one of us Saff thought and sighed. She called up some mist to hide the surface of the lake, knowing the girl would have to come up for air at some point and would probably still be in her draki form. At least this way none of the humans or perhaps even hunters would happen upon her.

Glenda noticed the mist, "could it be.. she.." she thought for a moment.
she walked along the shore line, heading back into the direction of the Pride.
once re-entering the pride she thought about going home to change her cloths, but then she thought about what Thundra's baby sitter would think..
she shook her head, she had to go home.

Saff let the mist recede after almost 10 minutes, figuring the other draki had either drowned or left already.
