Firelight discussion

The forest just outside the pride walls.
Run. Hide. And maybe, just maybe, Live.

Daniel crept along the dark forest, his ears pricked for any sounds which wouldn't belong to regular forest animals. They had heard through the vine that there was a group of dragons who flew over this forest every so often. But only at night.

Daniel searched franitcally, he swore he had seen a white dragon overhead so he had shot a tranq dart at it. But before he could find out where it would fall a mist covered his sightline. He cursed and squinted at the sky. The mist thinned and the moon shone through, he saw something falling and at first he thought it was the dragon but as it drew closer he realized it was too small to be a dragon.

He looked on in shock when he realized it was a girl. And she wasn't wearing any clothes.

Saff's mind was fogged as she fell, making it easier to control her fear and stay human. Her eyes shut and she lost consciousness.

Daniel swore as he watched the girl fall and scrambled towards where she would fall. He lost sight of her and heard a splash, meaning she had landed in the river. He cursed again and pulled off everything except for his pants and boxers. He searched the water then dove in.

He had to look around under the surface before he was able to locate her. He grabbed her arm and pulled her against his chest. He swam to the surface with her and pulled them both out of the water.

Once he got her on land he laid her out and checked her pulse. It was steady and he sighed in relief. He grabbed his jacket and covered her with it, blushing.

He looked at her. She had long white hair and pale skin. He wondered how she had come to fall from the sky naked. He tried to think of any plausible explanation when it hit him. The dragon he hit must have been carrying her and when his dart hit it it dropped the girl.

The girl's eyes fluttered and he found himself looking into the most striking blue eyes he'd ever seen.

Saff frowned softly, her mind still fogged. She didn't recognize the boy leaning over her but she could barely think. She looked down at herself, "what happened to me?" She asked quietly, wondering why she was covered by an unfamiliar jacket and wet.

Daniel swallowed, "you tell me. You're the one who fell from the sky and into the river." The girl's eyes flashed with understanding and she sat up slowly. She looked at him and twirled her finger, "could you, um..?" His eyes widened and he blushed again, "oh! Uh, yeah." He said, standing and turning away.

Saff pulled the jacket on and zipped it up then got to her feet. She was surprised at how long it was, the hem reached all the way down to her mid-thigh. She coughed a little, "um you can..." she said and trailed off.

Daniel turned back around and saw her standing. "Who are you and why are you in the forest at night?" He heard her say so quietly it was almost a whisper. He looked at her sidelong, "I could ask you the same." She shrugged, "don't know. My name is Saff by the way." He nodded, having expected that answer. "Daniel." She gripped her elbows and looked at him, "you didn't answer my question."

Saff looked at the boy who had introduced himself as Daniel with her piercing blue eyes. "My family is on a hunting trip." He said and she tensed. He's a hunter she thought, fear surfacing. Her draki struggled to manifest in response to it but she pushed it down, the worst possible thing she could do would be to manifest. It would get her killed.

Daniel frowned, noticing her reaction. "Are you okay?" She jumped a little and turned to him, "fine I just don't like hunting very much. I sympathize with the animals too much." She said and smiled weakly.

Glenda kept running, trees flying past her. the boy still fallowed, but was slowly falling behind, "hey! wait up!" he yelled.
she ignored him , 'maybe you should listen to him..'
"shut up!" i yelled.
"what i say?" he asked.
"never mind, leave me alone," she yelled.
"no."

Glenda stopped when she heard voices.
the guy caught up with her, "listen, i was told to-"
"shh!" she covered his mouth.
Glenda looked around a tree to find the shader.

Saff looked at Daniel and raised a brow, "you want to put a shirt on?" She asked softly with a small smile. He looked at himself and blushed, "right." He pulled on his discarded shirt and grabbed the his gear. Her stomach twisted at the weapons, knowing what they were really used for.

"So," Daniel said, looking at Saff. "What am I going to do with you? Do you remember how to get home?" She shook her head, knowing she couldn't chance leading hunters back to the pride while they were still flying. "I don't really remember anything." She lied, still gripping her elbows.

Daniel sighed, "well I can't just leave you out here, you'll have to come with me back to my home. You cant stay there until we figure out where you live." He noticed she seemed taken aback and tried to smile reassuringly.

Saff's stomach churned, not only was she leaving the pride unprotected but she was leaving with hunters. One false move and she exposed every draki's most guarded secret. She squashed her fear down and started following Daniel, hoping she wouldn't have to walk for very long barefoot.

A ball of fear formed in Glenda's stomach.
She could feel her skin shimering, a worm hand was placed on her back.
She turnd around to tell the boy not to touch her, but she found herself face to fsce with another boy. This one had short blond hair, a black rob, and was a hunter. And he already had the earth draki boy!
he grabed onto Glenda's neck, causing her to scream as load as she could.

He draged Glenda and the boy both out from behind the tree,"look what i found." he smerked. Sh tryed hard to breath, but his hand was blocking the air from getting threw.
He threw the them to the ground, both if them gasping.
He looked at the mostly naked girl near you, "who the hell is that, Daniel?" anger lingering in his eyes.

(I'm sorry I have no idea what just happened)

(Glenda and the earth draki got caught by a hunter. The one i made last night. And the hunter just asked who ur girl is.)

"Calm down Kan, I found her after she fell in the river." Daniel said as Saff flinched back. He looked back at the two kids on the ground. "Who're they?" He looked at Saff, "you know them?" She looked at them and recognized the boy but emphatically shook her head. She didn't want to risk giving them away if she was found out. And she was only half lying since she didn't actually recognize the girl.

Daniel shrugged but something was bothering him. Usually on hunts the only other living beings they encountered were the dragons and now they were finding kids left and right.

Glenda wached as the shader shook her head.
(Glenda doesnt know Saff's name yet XD)
Her skin was still slightly glowing, but the hunters didnt notice.
"stop it, your going to give us away," the earth draki whispered.
She ignored him, abd stood to her feet.
She carfuly walked over to the shader, still slightly glowing, and smiled softly.
"hello," she held out her hand, "i'm Glenda," she re-introduced herself.

Saff backed away and nodded, saying "Saff." But didn't take the offered hand. She swallowed, realizing that this was the fire draki from before. She chewed her lip, if the fire breather didn't control herself soon the hunters would grow suspicious. Her eyes cut to the boy who was not Daniel and knew that the moment he got away he would go to the pride and tell them she was with the hunters.

Daniel saw Saff looking at the others nervously and felt bad for her, she was obviously uncomfortable around other people. He looked at Kan then grabbed Saff's wrist, "well I'll just take Saff back to the truck and get her something else to wear."

"good idea," Kan nodded, then he jabes the earth draki with the head of an arrow, causing him to yelp. Kan kicked him to the ground and asked, "what do i do with these two?"

Glenda held her breath, she had to relax, for Thundra's sake.

Saff flinched and looked away. She may not like most of the pride but that didn't mean she wanted them to be hurt. She saw a small line of blood where he was jabbed and she prayed they didn't notice the unusual color. They must know draki's have purple blood, finding a human with the same blood would pique their interest in him and expose them all.

Daniel shoved Kan's shoulder, "hey knock it off, they're probably just some hikers who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just let them go."

Kan looked at Glenda and the boy, then at Saff, "how do we know the three of them arnt planning sonething?"
He walked closer to Glenda, and held an arrow out infrunt of her, "what are you doing here you freak!?," his voice boomed threw the forest.
Glenda stayed still, she looked unfazed.
She looked around.
"Answer me!" Kan demanded.
"I'm looking for my brother," she explained, "he was last seen here," she looked at Saff, guilt in her eyes.
'stop! You can't tell them! How are you going to run away again if the shader and earth draki know your leaving!?' the voice yelled in my head, giving me a head ach.
Kan examined her face.
"shes telling the truth," the earth draki moaned, shock filled his eyes

"Kan let it go, what is a soaked and mostly naked girl going to be planning. And as for the other two what plan could they possibly have planned that would affect us?" Daniel said and scooped Saff up. He put a hand under her butt to keep her covered and she squeaked in shock.

Saff looped her arms around Daniel's neck so she didn't fall since he had on hand under her butt and the other under her knees. "Come on Kan, we're not going to find anything tonight so we might as well head back. We've got school tomorrow anyway." He said and started walking away with Saff in his arms. She looked back at the male draki and Glenda briefly then looked away.

Glenda watched as they walked away.
She looked around once more.
'i feel him too'
Glenda walked over to the earth draki, "is she going to be okay?"
He looked up at her, "shes a stong girl, She'll be fine." Glenda nodded and helped him up.
"thanks," he mumbled.

Daniel carried Saff through the forest a little ways until they came upon a path he followed the path to a black truck with a tarp in the bed. He set her down and unlocked the door then grabbed her hips and sat her on the seat. "Show me your feet." He said after he had pulled a first aid kit from the truck bed.

Saff reluctantly did, hoping that if she was bleeding it was dark enough he wouldn't notice her blood wasn't red. He gently inspected her feet and said "there are a few scratches but it doesn't look like there's any blood." She sighed in relief and tugged her feet out of his reach. "Thanks." She said softly.

Daniel looked at her, "the others will be done soon. We can go back to my house and get you some clothes." She nodded and swung her legs into the truck.

Glenda walked with the earth draki threw the forest, he was to week to fly so we were stuck walking.
"So your name is Glenda?" He asked.
I nodded, "mhmm."
"I'm Caleb," he smiles.
My heart stops, I feel tingly, "nice to meet you."
your not here to make friends! Look what happend to the friend you tried making already...

(Saff is going to the 'dry city' house)

Glenda, Thundra, and Caleb make there way out of the pride and walk threw the forest.
"so..." Caleb tries to start a conversation.
Glenda ignores him.
Thundra looks over at him and asks, "why are you coming with us? hes our brother."
Caleb looks at the dark haired boy, "I'm here to protect your sister and get our shared back." he pauses, "whats your brother look like?" he asks looking around.
"Like me, but older," Thundra smiled, pointing at his face.
Caleb examined the boy. his black hair and hazel eyes were almost enchanting, "he looks like you?" Caleb found that hard to believe, since Thunra was so young, and Glenda said her other brother was 19.
Thundra nodded.
Glenda rolled her eyes, she new he wouldn't believe them, "our search are non of your concern, we'll help you look for Saff, just don't get in our way when we find my brother along the way," her voice was harsh.
"how do you know you'll find him?" Caleb whisper.
"she can feel him," Thundra butted in.
"she can feel him?" Caleb watched Glenda, "but.. how?"
there was no answer to his question. Glenda stopped in her tracks, "hes here..." she muttered.

A stick breaks near by.
Glenda stays still.
A stress block as heavy as a piano plows into her, and she knows its him.
"Glenda?" a deep voice whispers from behind a tree.
"Kambern? It's me," she says softly.
A Man about 6'2 with shaggy black hair, hazel eyes, pail skin, wearing a black button up shirt that is half done up, with black pants, and black running shoes steps out.
"KAMBERN!!!" both Glenda and Thundra shrieks, wile they run up and hug there brother.
Caleb clears his throat.
Kambern looks at the earth draki, "who the hell are you?" he asks narrowing his eyes on him.
Caleb swallows and looks at Glenda.
Glenda looks up at her brother, "hes a friend. We need your help finding someone," she smiles.
Kambern smiles, "what do you need?"
