What stood out to you?

I really loveHazels sarcasm in this chapter and I find it interesting how she compares everything as a side effect of living.

Since this was my first John Green book, I didn't know what to expect. I can say I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I took to this book. The very first page and I was hooked. Hazel is such an interesting character. I liked her voice and the way she dealed with the world. It was just a really compelling first chapter that set the tone for the book.
