Two questions.Does an editor count as author in a book of short stories?
The second question I'm guessing is a no, but I'll ask anyway. Would Stephens count as a name because the word "Stephen" appears in it in exactly the way you had it? The only reason I asked is because all the derivations examples you had had the words altered so that the actual word didn't appear at all.
Thanks

Oh, too bad. I have never read any of his books. I also have The Sound and the Fury on my TBR list. Was it boaring or just not your cup of tea?
Cherie wrote: "Oh, too bad. I have never read any of his books. I also have The Sound and the Fury on my TBR list. Was it boaring or just not your cup of tea?"Not for me.
It was hard to read because the writting is strange like ,"Dewey Dell said we will get some bananas. The train is behind the glass, red on the track. When it runs the track shines on and off. Pa said flour and sugar andcoffee costs so much. Because I am a country boy because boys in town. Bicycles. Why do flour and sugar and coffee cost so much when he is a country boy."
I got used to it but it killed all enjoyment.
I'll give Faulkner second try, I want to read his The Sound and the Fury
I read this for a humor challenge in another group, and am planning another read for this one, but thought I'd go ahead and share my points.I read Get A Clue by Jill Shalvis

However, I was not looking for low points, only those I wanted to get off my list.
I read A Lesson Before Dying. Turns out it sounded pretty familiar, so I'm sure I read it at some point in the past. But it was very good, not really enjoyable, but worth another read. The title contains the word Dying

I've had this on my shelf for about a year...will read it one day - might be my April Toppler read :)

I think, "Ummm... let's give points for this, or that. Nah, anyone can read a romance or mystery so let's give it one point...." I really don't try to lead people into reading one book or another. It just seems that way. Hehehehe!
Janice, I love your challenges and I am truely grateful to all of you who come up with such great ideas to get people to read books. If I were more competitive, I would try to look for books with more points - I do have some of Mr. King's books on my TBR list but he is not my favorite arthur nor is his genre at the top of my list like so many other'. I am very happy to come up with something off of my list that met some of the criteria. I will be reading King Solomon's Mines. I just bought a copy from B&N for my Nook today. It nets me 7 pts. LOL!
I'm glad you enjoy the challenges, Cherie! The goal is just that - a fun way to get people reading. I like your choice for the challenge, and 7 points is nothing to sneeze at. :)

I've had King Solomon's Mines on my Kindle for 2 years. I really should read it some day. Seems I have 3 other books by H. Rider Haggard sitting there keeping it company.
I read Black Irish by Stephan Talty. 4 pts Stephen 4 pts mystery for 8 points. I gave it 4 stars a good thriller rtaken place in buffalo ny . It was nice reading a book where the setting gis one that I've been to and have family in.
Oh Travis! I feel bad, but I have to tell you that the name has to be exact. Stephen, not Stephan. :( Is there another book you can fit in to the challenge? One good thing is that it was a 4 star read for you.
That is hilarious I checked the spelling and never noticed that was an "a" stuck in there but now that you mentioned it it sticks out like a sore thumb. Oh well it was a good read
Well my random tbr list of books that will probably never be read unless they fit a challenge came through for my second attempt and I finished Sherlock Holmes and the Plague of Dracula by Stephen Seitz points Stephen 4 mystery 4 title proper name 5 points longer than 4 words 2 points setting england 4 points total 19 points if I didn't fudge anything up this time. A mash up of about 5 of Holmes cases intertwined with Bram Stokers Dracula I give it about a 3.5 not bad a bit corny but enjoyable all the same especially if your familiar with the background stories
Yeah! I can breathe easy now, Travis. You got more than double the points with this book too. So it all worked out in the long run.Was this an audiobook?

Oops! I have another book I'm planning to read this month written my a Stephen and my brain lost it on the details. Well, 7 points seems to be a theme for me this month :-)
I've just finished The Illustrated A Brief History of Time whis is part of a a volume that also includes a second book The Universe In A Nutshell (will now read this to complete the volume)The Illustrated A Brief History of Time & The Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen Hawking.Reading this was tough even though I have a scientific background. I never did care for physics... It was nevertheless interesting and certainly made me reflect on the wonder of the universe and ponder on the why and how of our existence.
Here is what I calculated for points. Please correct me if this is wrong.

Or is the title indeed that long phrase with no sub-title? I'm just checking, because sub-titles aren't allowed, and I want to be fair. I will let you decide.
Yes, that's the whole title. There is a subtitle (Updated And Expanded Edition). I guess the space setting was good? Hurray! :)
I don't know about you, but I don't consider 25 pages to be a book. But, since I didn't specify page limits, I guess it will qualify.
Although there are not too many books that would qualify as a book at 25 pages, perhaps a Stephen King might. lol
