Allison (inconceivably) Old school Disney movies really are the best!

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

My kids watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer-Movie. It is really stupid.

message 12: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (marianslibrary) | 51 comments Friday night we watched, Australia. I know it received mixed reviews, but really loved it. Cried at the end! The young boy in it should have been nominated for an Oscar!
Some of my favorite movies:

Wizard of Oz
The Music Man
The Shop Around the Corner
Double Indemnity
All About Eve
Now Voyager
Gone With the Wind
Wuthering Heights
Frankenstein
Wolfman
Young Frankenstein

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

You have a lot of fav's that are great!

I love movies! I am getting Elizabeth from Netflix tomorrow. Very excited.

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

I watched the Happening with Mark Walberg last night. Written and producted by M. Night Shyamalan.

****Spoilers below***
It was good. I like Shyamalan's movies but very graffic. I think that films are just becoming more graffic with violence and death. I would have rathered some it jsut be left to my imagination instead of watching. Likethe scene with the men jumping off the roof of the building. the man getting eaten by lions, the man getting ran over by the lawn more, just to name a few. They should have edited it a bit better.

I really liked the Village, Signs & Lady in the Water. I liked this one just too graffic with several of the scenes.

I need a happy movie to watch now.

message 15: by Nicki (new)

Nicki (nicknoo) | 4 comments I liked the Happening until the ending. To me it just kind of died. Loved the concept tho!

I'm going to Watch Elizabeth the miniseries w/Hellen Miran. Very excited.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

We are watching Dodge Ball. This movie is just so funny & so stupid! I still like it.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I did get my new Netflix movies I should really go watch them or go read. What to do?

message 21: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) Don't you just love Netflix? I am so additcted to it.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

i so love netflix.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I watched "knocked up' last night. It sucked.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Watched the Locket. A beautiful movie. I love Vanessa Redgraves

message 25: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sanddune) Does your local post office have a special slot for returns for Netflix and Blockbluster? Ours used to say just Netflix, but I think the competition objected.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

All time favourite film is The Shawshank Redemption. Its amazing! Other films I love are American History X, Lord of the Rings, and The Matrix.

message 27: by Jason (new)

Jason (mr_jason) | 2 comments The Shawshank Redemption, American History X, A Tale Of Two Sisters, Se7en, No Country for Old Men, Terminator 1&2, Battle Royale, Survival Style 5+ and Training Day are some of my all time favorites. I probably missed some but yeah :D

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

No our post office doesn't have a slot for Netflix. I can't believe how fast they are in getting new movies out. It usually takes two days from when I drop it in the slot to when I get the eamil the next movie was sent out.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I too like Shawshank Redemption. LOTR was fantastic.

message 30: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) It's that fast for us too, Emilee. I just hate it when my kids get into the Netflix account and start messing with the queue. They love moving all of theirs to the top, and they always order crap. As soon as I drop off movies I come back home and make sure the queue is the way I want it!

I let Aaron have access to the account because he can order movies at school and play them on his XBox (or Ipod) but he has tried to arrange for a bunch of junk to be here for the weekends when he comes home.

message 31: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sanddune) Emilee and Beth, the turnaround time is the same for us. I wish the CD book subscriptions did half as well on theirs.

message 32: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) I loved the Shawshank Redemption and haven't see it in a number of years. This is one I'm going to put in my queue today.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Forest Gump is another great Movie!

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't let my children have access to Netflix. I know all the movies I want would be gone. It would be HomeAlone, Rent, Jonas Brothers crap thing that is out and nothing for Mom.

You are so brave Beth!!!!

message 35: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) I just have to check my account frequently. We're on the 3 at a time plan so I try to keep if fair for everyone. Last night we were subjected to Beverly Hills Chihuahua, thanks to Jacob. I don't want to have to watch that one again so I sealed it in the envelope. I've had to do that a lot with Jacob's movies. "Sorry, we can't watch it again because I've already sealed the return envelope." I'm such a mean mom sometimes!

message 36: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sanddune) No you're not. Just a caring Mom who knows when to say no. The world needs more moms like you.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Beth: your not a mean Mom. I do the same thing. Get the movie out when they are worthless!

message 38: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) LOL, and most of the ones Jacob picks are!

message 39: by Terra Timmons (new)

Terra Timmons I just watched Becoming Jane, hence the reason I bought Pride and Pejudice. I also just last night, watched, You Don't Mess with the Zohan. LOL it was funny, but too much of the crazy, impossible effects. Some funny lines though.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Kids I think jsut have that kid taste. Bad Movies.

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, I really liked Becoming Jane. I need to buy that one.

Terra Timmons I just watched the Water Dog! OMG the cutest movie and I just knew it was going to make me cry! I was bawling! Both happy and sad tears!
