Alya sat in a tree humming a little tune.

Brandon walked through the woods.
((Hola!))Mirrin heard a sound behind her, and whirled around. Seeing nothing, she scrambled up a tree for a better view.
Brandon heard something from a tree and looked up.
He could sense someone in the tree. "Who are you?"
"I don't believe that who I am has anything at all to do with your identity."
"So who you are, what happened in your life, your name; it all changes depending on who you're talking to?"
"That's not changing your identity though, is it? It's just changing whether you're lying or not."
"As far as you know." He replied, and walked on.
He just grinned and kept walking.
She sighed and jumped down from the tree to follow him. "Alright, now that you've got me intrigued..."
"Is that the lie or the truth?"
"I would rather hear it from your lips than to use anything of mine to find out."
She rolled her eyes. "It's the truth, I promise, but you have to introduce yourself, if I may remind you."
"I had not forgotten." He said. "I am one called Brandon. Yes, I am what some call 'Readers'. I do not understand your objection to them."
"You know I had no intention of telling you any of this when I first met you?" she informed him irritatedly.
She rolled her eyes. "Well, I'm... distrustful of anything magic to say the least," she explained slowly. "It killed my ma." She looked down at the ground, a scowl afixed on her face. "I'm what many refer to as Wild because I can't control my magic. It'll jump out at the worst times, and stay silent when you need it most." She stopped, remembering her mother's death, how she was helpless, how her magic wouldn't respond...
His stern face softened. "I'm sorry."
She shook her head, casting the memories away. "Don't worry about it. Do you know how vexing you are?"
"I am vexing?" He raised an eyebrow, amused.
"I've told you more in five minutes than I've ever told hardly anyone. And I never meant to tell you a word."
"The shrine." He said, walking up the steps.
"Are you cold, Miss Mirrin?"
