*spoilers for Journey's End, season 4*

I think Clara is Rose Tyler's and the Meta Crisis Doctor's daughter.

message 2: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Yeah.

message 3: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
I don't get it either. Maybe the 'woman in the shop' was River Song and she knows Clara in the future or something.

message 4: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Yeah. But I made a theory around that.

message 5: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Don't really have one.

message 6: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Yeah. But I like to think 'Amelia Williams' is Clara's favorite author.

*Spoilers for The Asylum of the Daleks, The Snowmen and the Parting of the Ways*

You know how Clara keeps dying and comes back? This brings the theory of being Rose's daughter in. Clara got the Bad Wolf in her and whenever she dies, she can just imagine a place and go there.

message 9: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Yes I did!

I have a theory that modem day Clara and young Clara (from the prequel) aren't Clara Tyler at all.

To explain this, I have a whole theory to write out..

message 10: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Okay, so. In Pete's world (where Rose lives) Clara was kidnapped by *spoilers for A Good Man Goes to War* Madame Koviaran (the eyepatch lady and taken to 2031 London in the alternative universe (this one) and dropped there erasing her memories of the incident. There she met a woman her age, Sophia Smith. Who is daughter of *spoiler for The End of Time part 2* Martha (Jones) and Mickey Smith. They become best friends and Clara eventually moves in with the Smiths.

One night when she goes to bed, she dreams of traveling with the Doctor and she created another life with the Bad Wolf (by accident of course) as Clara Oswin Oswald who has no idea who The Doctor is.

message 11: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
That took a while. There it is. ^

message 12: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
:) welcome. What do you think?

message 13: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Maybe. That would work too.

message 14: by Maya (new)

Maya | 1 comments I think that Clara, after travelling with the Doctor, somehow gets her memory erased and sent to different points in time, but there is still a connection between her and the Doctor which is why there is a connection between them.

Though now that I think about it, the Bad Wolf thing makes sense too...

message 15: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
That's a cool theory, Maya.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Check out the chairs in both "The Doctor's Daughter" and "Asylum of the Daleks"

Clara being given the phone number for the TARDIS would fit with the Rose's daughter theory- Rose worked in a shop when we first met her, and I think she did in the new World.
The other woman with a "Shop" connection would be Sally Sparrow.. I don't think she would have an actual connection with Clara but could have been the woman who gave her the #

message 17: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Yeah the connection with Rose. Maybe it was River that gave Clara the number and knows Clara in the future.

message 18: by Jess (new)

Jess (artemistoapollo) I like the theory that it's Rose and Meta-crisis Ten's daughter, but I'm not too sure how that would work unless she is that plastic stuff that Amy was when the Doctor couldn't figure out if she was pregnant or not. That would explain her reappearances. In the short prequel to tBoSJ, I read that at the beginning the two kids that run by are Rose and Mickey. The kids are the appropriate age to be them, too. It, also, said Jackie Tyler was the lady that young Clara's mom was talking to before Clara came over to her.

message 19: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Unless she got some of the Bad Wolf from her mom and whenever she's dies she can just imagine a place and go there.

That's my theory anyway.

message 20: by Elianna (new)

Elianna (eliannahl) | 8 comments Okay, first of all, Clara is not the doctors daughter. They KISSED in the Christmas Special! That would just be OVER THE TOP weird! She is NOT RIVER, that plot has gotten old. And I really don't think she is a future version of the Doctor. The name Clara Oswin Oswald, is an anagram for Window Across All. I also read somewhere that she is interdimensional. And Rose worked in a shop, so in TBOSJ when she says to the doctor, "The woman in the shop gave the number to me." Rose gave it to her, because if Clara can "hop" dimensions, then Rose can do that too.

message 21: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
That's a cool theory. But if she's Rose's daughter she isn't the Doctor's daughter. Just the meta-crisis's one.

message 22: by Doctor Who Fan (new)

Doctor Who Fan I♥♥DW She could just not have a connection to anyone in the series so far...

Also...If she can "hop" dimensions, she would have to choose a time period that she would hop into. And, what if Clara is literally a person who has to exist in all dimensions?

Another thing, for the person who said Clara is Rose's daughter, *Spoiler* in Newest ep. The Rings of Akhaten, Clara's mother's (first) name is Ellie.

message 25: by Jess (new)

Jess (artemistoapollo) This Clara's mother's name was Ellie. What about Victorian Clara's mum? We and the Doctor don't know if anything like that even ties her together. This version could be entirely different.

message 26: by Elianna (new)

Elianna (eliannahl) | 8 comments That idea is clever, and I am sure Steven Moffat probably thought of that, but I don't know if it really makes sense and flows with the story so far.

message 27: by Elianna (new)

Elianna (eliannahl) | 8 comments And we have already done a story involving a daughter of the companion, and Steven Moffat likes to keep the story fresh.

message 28: by Elianna (new)

Elianna (eliannahl) | 8 comments But I definitely agree with the fact that this Clara could be entirely different.

message 29: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
I just realized something! I listened to Clara's theme then Rose's theme and they're really similar!

(too interesting to not to share)

message 30: by Me (new)

Me Myself | 1 comments I don't have an entire theory yet, but could it be possible that Clara is a time lord (or something similar) in human form, as the Doctor with the watch in "Human Nature." She is completely human, with no memory of a former self, and complete memories of an entire human life (but never anyone who's known her for more than a year). It couldn't explain her dying twice, but it could explain why she doesn't seem to remember the doctor.
Also interesting: Clara figured out how to fly the TARDIS; who else was able to fly it?

message 31: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
It looked like she was holding on for dear life to me.

message 32: by Tjb (new)

Tjb | 1 comments Clara theory

The twelfth doctor( the woman in the shop ) gives real Clara the doctors phone number so he ( eleventh doctor ) meets her, after clever use of the tesalector in the snowman/ asylum two stir Him out of his post pond retirement with some intrigue. Because she has to insist on a flying lesson in j t t c o t t which means he turns off the shields the TARDIS explodes causing the crack in little Amy's wall and all that follows........
Mr Moffat as been quoted as saying Clara has met the Dr more than three times, and that the Finale, Show Will 'Change The Course Of Who Forever.' This possibly equals female
Doctor!

message 33: by The Lonely Angel (new)

The Lonely Angel I think Clara ISN'T the Doctor's daughter. Maybe she is the Universe's way of saying "Here, take this and save the world." And then when he does the Universe takes her away. So basically she is the Universe's way of making the Doctor do anything it wants, because if he doesn't then it just kills Clara.

message 34: by Jess (new)

Jess (artemistoapollo) I saw a neat theory the other day that Clara is a reincarnation of Susan, the Doctor's granddaughter. I mean in tRoA, he does mention being there with her once before. Maybe that was a hint.

message 35: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
That'd be cool. But they kissed...

message 36: by Jess (new)

Jess (artemistoapollo) So? It's not a big deal. It's not like they did it. I have another theory, but it's not ready for public consumption, yet.

message 37: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
Okay cool.

message 38: by Elianna (new)

Elianna (eliannahl) | 8 comments What if rose is a timelord, and Clara is literally another incarnation of rose?

message 39: by Liza, Main Mod (new)

Liza | 1835 comments Mod
I know Rose got it sometime when traveling with him but I dunno when.

Kerry | 684 comments Mod
I know this is a bit of topic but don't you find Clara just adorable! She is so cute!

message 41: by John (new)

John *BookLover* | 1301 comments Hi I'm new to this group but my theory is maybe the same thing that happened to rose happened to Clara in the other dimension. Maybe Clara became trapped in the real world when rose became trapped in the other dimension. What I'm saying is what if Clara is another dimension rose.

message 42: by John (new)

John *BookLover* | 1301 comments Remember the episode the doctors daughter. Well maybe she got her memories erased at one point and Clara is Jenny. That is my other theory.

message 43: by Kerry (new)

Kerry | 684 comments Mod
Wow! That's a good theory! Your very intelligent, I would have never thought of it! It makes sense...
