Making Music
I wish I could play an instrument. But so far the ones that I've tried I've failed at. Of course I never had any teacher really, I kinda just tried to teach myself. xP
Oh, I wish that I could play an instrument too... the recorder doesn't quite count, in my opinion. However, I've always wanted to play piano. I jsut don't think that I'm that coordinated between my two hands... but I think that I could manage if I really tried. :D
My little brother is pretty good at playing the keyboard (which is pretty close to the piano, right?) and I've always wanted to play the drums. But there isn't enough space in my house for drums. xD
I also tried the recorder. And I didn't do so well. xD

Oh! My bro has a drum set! I've always kinda wanted to learn the drums too... And we have a keyboard in my house! I've actually learned what notes are where on a keyboard! And I learned the recorder in like, fourth and fifth grade. I still have it. It's plastic and bright green.
Mine was my grandpa's recorder. I found it, cleaned it, and then found some books for it and tried to teach myself and failed. =P
Cool. I want his drum set! =D
A keyboard is small too, not like a big piano. xD

Ditto. Plus the strings hurt my fingers. So, even though I would want to play an acoustic (because I LOVE the way they sound) I can't unless I developed some major calluses on my fingers. I could always get my brother to teach me. He taught me three chords last month!
No, no, I'm talking about my left hand. I can use the pick for strumming. In fact, I did use the pick when my brother showed me. But I can't use the pick to hold down the strings on the neck in the right places. and I found out that you have to press down harder on an acoustic than you do on an electric or a bass.
:) I can see where you were confused...I probably would have been too, if I didn't already know what I was trying to say.In additon to learning an instrument, I've always wanted to write music... I bet that I could write lyrics just fine. I mean, it's not really any different than writing a poem. But I just don't know how to write music for different instruments.
Same here. I would love to write lyrics. But I'd be afraid that mine would turned out like crap. xD Haha!
I don't know...writing lyrics doesn't seem that bad to me. Perhaps it's because I can write whenever I want to. I can force myself to write, and still have it turn out all right. I guess it comes with just writing all the time anyhow. Really, you should see all the writing I have on my profile... I have sooo many things.

ya, its kinda old, and its gotten pathetic. last season is a v. good example.
i never actually obsessed over it, but my friends all used to watch it, so i'd find out about it from them.
one of my friends uses it as background noise when she does homework

But I'm wondering how many people sing, play an instrument, or even compose music....I play piano (for about 11 and 1/2 years!), organ (taught myself), guitar (acoustic and classical), and harmonica (again, taught myself, but I haven't played it for awhile). I also sing and took voice lessons for around 4 years or so.
A far as composing, I've done a bit. Some instrumentals for piano, a song with lyrics and chords for guitar (with the help of my sister), and a piano trio (for piano, cello, and violin). Yes, I wish I knew the notation for other instruments better, too. It would be so fun to try to write an orchestration or something. =)
i tried cello for a few months, then quit to focus on piano, and my brother plays it. (the cello)
the only problem w/it is if your in a orchestra like him you get stuck with all of the bad parts.
otherwise, its cool

CELIA! I PLAY AN INSTRUMENT THAT HAS DEEP, RICH, DARK TONES
and it smells, well, not bad.
I play the baritone.
if you don't know what it is, it's a small tuba.
you can google it.
or type in "euphonium"

I sing. I'm an alto, and I've been in choir for four years. :)
