A funny story:

I went to the United Kingdom a couple of years ago to get my hands on Half Blood Prince and Order of the Phoenix. I'd received Deathly Hallows as a present to I already had it.
So, I finished Book 5 and Book 6. And...I forgot my copy of Book Seven in ANOTHER COUNTRY.

I'm so absent-minded.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

That's annoying. Did it drive you crazy???

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

YES!

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

I'd imagine so. I grew up with them. The second they came out, my mom bought them (as they were released) and read them with my older brother. So when I was born, we owned most all of them already. They've always been kept into my room, I think as a little hint from my nerdy mother to love them as I grew up. ;) A little sly of hand, mother.

Sinda Quietus (superwholockedtrekacrossthestars) | 2846 comments I have 3 copies of book Seven. I let someone borrow the first copy and I forget who I gave it to so I can't ask for it back, I bought another but lost it, and bought a third one then found the second.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha, that's awesome. I have two copies of both book seven and book four, and four copies of book one.

Ciara | 144 comments What an amazing end to an amazing series!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Indeed! I know some people who are highly disappointed with the Epilogue, but honestly, what are they talking about? It ties up old ends and makes you smile. :) What else do you want? -.-
I loved this entire book. I cry when ever I think about and it's just so amazing. The story line is weaved absolutely perfectly.

Annabelle Okay so I've been wondering, will Kreacher ever get his head hung on the wall like he's always wanted? I don't think Harry would want to do it, (and Hermione would probably never let him) so what do you think?

message 11: by Ciara (last edited Apr 16, 2013 11:03AM) (new)

Ciara | 144 comments Probably not, although I think Hermione would have come up with another way to honour his wishes because of her support for House Elves.

GlitchObsession-Eridan's Matesprit (DontlaughIknowwhereyoulive) Yeah that's a hard question....

Then maybe a funeral without magic, similar to Dobby's.

message 14: by Mayomouse (new)

Mayomouse (mayomouse) | 612 comments But Dobby was so much more…uh…likable!!! I doubt he would care enough to go through all of that for a house elf who didn't have the best manners.

message 15: by Annabelle (new)

Annabelle In the end they kind of like him more, but that's true because when the realized they couldn't go back to Sirius's house they didn't even give Kreacher a second thought.

Pallavi (dreamcatcher03) | 1 comments Just finished re-reading this one for the 100th time probably. I don't like the epilogue either, not because it's not well-written. It obviously is perfect but every time I read it, it makes me sad to realize that it's all over and everyone's moved on with their lives. I clearly haven't. :P

message 17: by C (new)

C (beyondtheveil) | 651 comments Amazing. It's my favourite novel. Well, I dislike the Epilogue, but it's only a minute flaw, so I can look over it. But, I have to say, I desperately wanted Harry to die. I would've liked the series even more if he had been killed by Voldemort.

message 18: by cαяяιє (new)

cαяяιє | 1393 comments I could not put this book down, literally. I took it everywhere with me. I got little to no sleep, and I'm pretty sure my family thought i was dead because I locked myself in my room all day and just read. This is why Rowling is our queen!

message 19: by Emme (new)

Emme Reese | 11 comments I wish the epilougue was longer and actualy a real chapter or something just so you could get the idea of what happenend after and maybe harry describing the aftermath of the battle

I think we've got a death eater on our hands, guys.

Yeah i would have liked to read about their jobs and family, but that's the thing with books. Most of the story is left to our own imagination so we can sort of twist it to make it what we would like more. Unlike movies which give you everything and don't leave much room for imagination.

No, I just think that it would've been more touching if he'd died for his loved ones, and, since he did, it provided them with protection to defeat Voldemort. Then, it would've been like Harry destroyed Voldemort through them. Quite a bit more original.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I. Just. Can't! I loved everything about it!! EVERYTHING! There was nothing that I did not like about this book! NOTHING! Seriously, NOTHING! NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING! *FANGIRL*

.... O.O I think I've had too much sugar....

I understand :) Although he did accept the idea that he was going to die because he truly thought he would. I'm just glad he didn't because I get so depressed when heros die

Me too! I don't like it when any of the charcters I like die but someone has to I guess. I only know of one book though where the main character died.....
I wish George gadn't died in this book though. Fred will never be the same.

Yeah i couldn't believe rowling killed off one of the twins

message 27: by Parker (new)

Parker (flipwizard) It's better than some books. I read this one series about bats- all my characters died or something! Urgh!

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

This book was a perfect ending for the series. JK Rowling wrapped it up so well. ^^

message 29: by Janke (new)

Janke Van | 3 comments I cried when harry was ready to face his death. This book was the perfect ending to the most perfect series. I love hoe JK kept some of the humour that is in everyone of her books but also allowing us to feel how things have changed for harry since he was eleven

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Me, too!

message 31: by L.Y. (new)

L.Y. Levand (lylevand) | 1907 comments This one was my favorite! The tension was amazing. I was teary-eyed through great sections of it, too. It was such a perfect ending. And I loved the bit after the actual story, too. It was perfect.

message 32: by Janke (new)

Janke Van | 3 comments There was so much emotion in the book but it wasn't only negative emotions such as grief there was also quite few parts (especially with the weasly twins present) that made me laugh out loud.

message 33: by Lainey (new)

Lainey (Laineybell1234) | 6 comments My absolute favorite book in the entire series!!! It is so amazing! JK Rowling is a phenomenal writer, and the whole entire series is thought out so well.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

MY FAVORITE BOOK OUT OF ALL THE 7 I LOVE THEM ALL EQUALLY BUT IF I HAD TO CHOSE ONE ITD BE THIS OND

message 35: by Hannah (new)

Hannah Dennis (akwardturtles18) | 2 comments This is definitely my favorite Harry Potter book. The epilogue tied up the series very nicely. I just loved that Harry finally got his family:) However, the resurrection stone scene killed me inside.

message 36: by Ria (new)

Ria | 1 comments I really loved snape in this book. I even cried for him :( sniff.

message 37: by Mahnoor (new)

Mahnoor (noor155) Snape, yes! He was an amazing character and I never really distrusted him.
And this book. Wow. It was the perfect end. SO many feelings!

message 38: by Mahnoor (new)

Mahnoor (noor155) I wish Snape was there too in that resurrection scene. Not with the Marauders but just present so he and Harry could have a talk or something.

message 39: by Eve (new)

Eve (evecandell) | 2344 comments Oh. My. Gosh. I just saw this review of the book and it said Lupin, Tonks, Mad-eye, and Fred deserved to die. No. Just NO.

message 40: by Michaela (new)

Michaela | 8 comments So tell me we all know Fenrir Greyback was the leader of the snatcher group in book seven, right?

How did you feel or did you have any feeling at all when they demoted him in the movie from leader and put Scabior as the leader.

Personally I was furious but that's only because Fenrir is awesome XD

message 41: by Eve (new)

Eve (evecandell) | 2344 comments I was mad too!

message 43: by Jazzy (new)

Jazzy (stairstepjitters) | 155 comments I despised the epilogue. It felt so strange to see everyone so nicely settled after all the tumult and tribulation they had undergone in the previous six and a half books. "All was well" made me want to cut my eye out with a spoon.

The middle of the book seemed to drag on with the hopelessness of the search, which I almost want to believe was intentional so you understood the impatience of the trio as they go from place to place trying to find some kind of clue as the wizarding world goes to war around them. The battle of Hogwarts... *moment of silence*

It would've been a great ending to the series if not for that gosh diddly darn epilogue.

message 44: by Imogen (new)

Imogen Reeves (purplegems3) | 16 comments The Deathly Hallows was the perfect ending to Harry's Adventures against Voldemort. I was upset with a few of the death during the Battle of Hogwarts but The Epilogue was, in my opinion, the best way to end the series.
