I loved it! It really transported me to that time in the French Rivera.... The Cecil character is adorable. A certain smile of her is lovely!

I agree, Cecile is the epitome of a bratty child who begs for her needy father, to provide attention. Her father is a reminder of a man who lost a sense of belonging with the progression of life. Cecile, is like the young version of what he probably was as a young man. I think the step-mother is characterized as society looking down on the "free" living. Very well written.
