Just picked this up from the library. Will give it a try!

I've read five books by Deborah Challinor now, and I think this one would have to be my least favourite. There were parts of the story that I quite enjoyed and other parts that I found a bit of a slog. I'm not afraid of the Maori language, but I found the use of tribal names and areas heavy in places. I did like hearing about how the Maori lived around the time of European settlement though. I think my favourite character would be the eldest daughter of the English family in Auckland.
