hello and welcome to my new page. this is where you post info about (if possible) your own dig or a dig you took part in. post things about finds and tell what they are. if you don't know what it is, post a picture and or a detailed description of the find and others can help you figure out what it is. remember that no find, not even a very small shard of broken glass, has no story to tell. they all shed some light on the past, whether recent, medieval, or ancient. Happy digging!

Hello- I'm new, let me introduce myself. I live in Reno Nevada and I've been working as a professional field archaeologist for 22 years. My last project was this summer excavating prehistoric sites in northwest Nevada prior to a gold mine expansion. The sites generally dated to the Middle-Late Archaic (5000-1000 BP) and typically we found lithic debitage (lots of obsidian), occasional tools and one good house pit. For the Great Basin, it was some pretty exciting fieldwork!
