James River Writers discussion

Lydia Netzer's debut novel has been named by the Los Angeles Times as a finalist for The Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction. She'll also speak at our annual James River Writers Conference at the Greater Richmond Convention Center on October 19-20, 2013.

As a writer/editor, I'm loving how Lydia Netzer develops her characters. Sunny seems so perfect upon her introduction. Maxon seems like the ideal match: a brilliant, supportive (rich) husband, if perhaps shy in crowds. I'm not that far in, but every chapter reveals so much more about who they really are as well what their true relationship is with each other. Nothing is quite as simple as it seemed in the opening chapters, where Bubber is the only concern.
