Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson
I thought this book was very imagination provoking. The whole book is about how a child used his imagination to make a world of his own. This book presents the fact that children's capabilities are endless. The drawing in this picture book was fantastic since it was done in the mind of what a child would actually draw. I enjoyed the book very much.

The Tale of Benjamin Bunny by Beatrix Potter
This book is about a bunny who is just trying to get home but falls into some trouble. The story is very interesting. It talks about real life, like how Mrs. Rabbit was a widow. This book although it may be a picture book is very complex. Children would have to be at about the fourth grade level to fully understand everything in the book. The book also displays discipline from parents, therefore connecting this book to the real life of a child. I think that this book would not be very good for the classroom but maybe it would be better to be read at home by parents.

The Belly Book by Joe Harris
This book is very educational for children. It could be a great way for children to learn about their bodies. IT also has tips onto what children should and should not eat, which is very important these days. It also shows that outcomes of eating too much junk food. The book is rhyming so it will help children to remember the tips on how to eat healthy for a good belly. The pictures are also great to get childrens attention since there are so many different types of bellies in the book it catches the attention of the reader.

In a people house is about a mouse and bird exploring a house. They are exploring a humans house. This book is very educational. Because it shows children what things are called inside a house from toothbrush to window. This book would be great for children in kindergarten and first grade. The book also catches the attention of the reader by all of the detailed pictures that correlate with the names.

Mrs. Wow Never Wanted a Cow
This story is about an unexpected cow becoming part of a family that never thought they wanted a cow. The story although may seem very emotional is also educational. In the book the cat and dog try to keep the cow so they can give their chores to the cow. But in the end they realized that really they just need to do their chores themselves. They instead found a different job for the cow and although it didn't take much effort it did help the family. The cow got milked everyday by Mrs. Wow which in return helped motivate the dog and cat to do their chores. Moral of the story simply do your chores yourself.

Put me in the Zoo by Robert Lopshire
This book is about an animal who wants to be in the zoo but is not wanted in the zoo. This book is a great attention grabber because the animals spots are always changing. It also teaches chidlren sizes such as large and small and colors. The books purpose is to tell children that it is okay to be different and despite your differences there is always a place for you. As in this story the animal deeply wants to go to the zoo but finds out he is not wanted there and with the help of some friends he finds that his true home is the circus. This story is fantastic to read to children of all grade levels and each grade level would be able to interpret it a different way.

David goes to school
David goes to school has some great pictures. It is a very simple book but it shows the right etiquette children should have at school. This would be a great book for kindergarteners who are just starting school, because it will give them a different way of learning what is right and wrong to do in school. It also shows that no matter how many problems you start at school, your teacher is just being a teacher and just wants you to be your best. She yells so that you can be at the same level as the rest of the kids.
Chrysanthemum
I really enjoyed this book. It would be a great classroom book. It not only teaches that being different is a good thing but that bullying is not okay. Accepting yourself for who are is important to finding your own identity. The pictures in the book were great they went basically word for word with the book. I also loved how it showed her parents being very supportive for her which shows kids that they should always find support in their parents. Defiantly would recommend this book to everyone I know!
Magic school Bus inside a beehive
This book would be great to go along with a lesson about insects, specifically bees. The book definitely sparks imagination in the minds of its readers. The book also does a great job at adding any cool details and facts. There are a lot of pictures on one page but it makes the whole book more interesting and when you keep rereading the book you will discover different details and pictures that the reader did not see from before. The Magic School Bus series are all fantastic at educating plus sparking imagination.

First Day Jitters
This book was great. Each picture was very detailed and the lesson of the book was great. This book would be great for any child to read on their first day of school. The fact that it was about a teacher and not a student. It shows children that everyone gets nervous for the first day of school. It is not just you who is nervous about school, the first day jitters are shared by everyone even adults. This is a book to defiantly have in the classroom.
The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear.
This book had some great pictures in it. The pictures followed along with just about every word the was read in the book. It showed what the mouse did step by step. But I did not like how in this book the narrator was a mystery. I guess in a way we the readers were conversing with the mouse. I did like how the moral of the story was to share and sharing was good. This book would be good for the younger grades, maybe first and or kindergarten. The story was short too which would help to keep the students focused on the book.
Corduroy
I really enjoyed the Corduroy book. But this book is a little outdated. If I read this to book to children today most of them would not know that corduroy is a type of material. Growing up I read corduroy and I always loved it cause my mom woul dress my in corduroy a lot. I did like how the bear wanted a friend soi badly he wanted to make himself look like brand new. But in the end his new friend told him that she liked him for just they way he was new or old, she liked him for who he was. The moral of the story is great, it shows children that materialistic things aren’t what make new friends, being who you are will make you new friends and changing yourself for someone else isn’t worth it cause your true friends like you for who you are.

Olivia
The Olivia book was quite different from any of the other books in the context of pictures. The color on the pictures is quite different from most books. The fact that the only gright color that is used is red definantly is an eye catcher for students. Anything that is different will catch the attention of students. The book was quite interesting because it depicted a pig as a normal child. I think that young girls would really enjoy this book because the story is about a girl and how girly she is. They would love the pages about the different outfits. This book is good but maybe not for a classroom because it is not gender neutral.
The Napping House
This book was hilarious. It was very quiet at first but once the flea came it was a loud story. I loved how it changed and I think that children would defiantly like that. This book would be great for reading to younger students who are learning to read. The book repeats one phrase from each of the previous pages would could be great to get the children involved with cause they could read aloud with you. The pictures in the book were great. The book correlated perfectly with the words of the book. I think that children would enjoy this book because of the tone changes of the book and the hilarious pictures.
Good Night, Gorilla
The pictures in this book are great. On a couple of the pages there are no words so the reader must use their own imagination to figure out what is happening which is very good for students. It will help them to start to critically read. This book also helps to teach children different animals. This book is more for children who are younger. But it really could be for all ages because of the fact that it could be used to critically think.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
This book was awesome. MY niece absolutely enjoyed this book. IT was great for teaching children their alphabets and the book was very rhyming. The book was kind of like a song, which could defiantly be a switch up from other books. This book is very colorful and although there aren’t any real human or animal characters it is still a very enjoyable book. This book would be great for children who are learning the alphabets. It not only includes the whole alphabet but also shows the difference between lower case and capital letters.
Madeline
The madeline book had very detailed pictures. The story was actually very short but looking at each picture took a good amount of time. I liked how it showed her getting her appendix out and how a scar can actually be pretty cool. It also showed that being different is actually pretty cool. I loved how the book was kind of depicted as a school. The book also helps children with their numbers. It repeatedly says two rows of twelve and each time it says that a teacher can count out each child to her students. I also liked how the story was in Paris which could help children learn about different places in the world.
Where the Wild Things Are
This book was great. It can really help kids to spark their imagination, since the entire book is about a child with a great imagination. I liked how the book showed that even when parents seem like they are angry with you, they aren’t seriously angry with you and will not make you starve. It also shows kids that they can have a fun time without toys. The pictures in the book are great, each monster is different from the other. I loved how the forest literally grew in his room. This book would be great to show kids that sometimes their imagination is all they need.
