Thanks, and don't worry, I didn't forget your posts with Michelle, Carly and Jeanne two months ago :)

BTW I am going to be a bit selfish (sorry!) and nominate Memento mori, a miserably short story, 12 pages long, as I seem so utterly behind schedule with all the books in our club.

Irks me that I just don't have enough time in the day to read everything in a timely fashion, but that is the beauty of this club and the busyness of my life and how I would much rather be reading than working.
I nominate as the book - Brighton Beach Memoirs. Saw the movie many times and loved it - I knew it was a play, but did not know it was a book.
for something totally different, I suggest The Swimmer, a short story by John Cheever which was adapted to the screen in the late Sixties. The film starred Burt Lancaster and has a very young Joan Rivers in it too.The story is widely considered one of Cheever's best. I would add links to everything, but I'm mobile right now and I don't think I can do that from this app. Sorry about that! I'll add links when I'm on my laptop again.
Finally back in front of my laptop. Here are a few links: John Cheever; The Swimmer (This is the entire story, online)the film: The Swimmer It's also available via Amazon instant Video.

That's a great suggestion! I second the Cheever short story. I remember seeing the movie when it came out and hadn't thought of it in years.

Now, the point of this thread - here you may nominate your candidates for the next (two months) selection of Quick Reads. They may be short stories, novellas, plays or graphic novels but in any case must be adapted on screen to qualify. Don't be afraid to nominate any of stories that were already nominated (check this link here), they all deserve our attention.
