Using RAFTAT, identify a mood in your text. Provide two examples of how the writer established that mood.

If you did mood last night, please do symbolism.

Ivan (ivanski711) | 30 comments In my book "The Demond King" by Cinda W Chima the mood in the book is dark. For example my mane character has to steal things in order to support his family along with other people in the town. This shows that the mood in my book is dark because of all of the crimes that are being committed daily my the citizans of that town. Another example is that a dark wizard currently rules the town making the good residents miserable. This shows that along with all of the crimes there is a bad wizard that is making every thing worse for more people that don't deserve it.

Kimora Irby | 25 comments In my book "I AM J" by Cris Beam the mood in the book is emotional. For example my character has to go through a lot because she's transgender and when she likes a person it's hard for her to explain what she is. This shows that the mood in my book is emotional because she has to deal with her body image and how she presents herself. Another example is in the book right now she's not living with her parents she's staying at a friends because she told her mom that she wants to get a drug that helps your body get like a man, and her mother was really frustrated that her own child would want to change their body. This shows that J feels like nobody understands what she's going through and she has to runaway from her problems.

Monica | 43 comments In the book, Wings Of The Wicked, by Courtney Allison Moulton, the mood in my text is full of suspense. For example, in the text, Ellie, the protagonist often gets nervous about demonic reapers going after her and pursueing her because of her majestic powers and guardian. Meanwhile, Will has been loving her more than usual, and because of that, Ellie has relaxed from going on patrols with her reaper friends and social life when something unexpected happens. A demonic reaper named Merodach comes along and ambushes Ellie and Will while they were in their little romance act. Will gets poisoned immediately and Ellie didn't know what to do. This shows that suspense often comes along whenever there were something good going along in Ellie's life. That is why Ellie and her guardian can't really settle down before everything bad has happened. Another example is that when every chapter ends in this book, most of them ends with a foreshadowing sentence, hinting something bad is going to happen. When I was reading the book, I felt nervous and excited at the same time. As the demonic reapers were trying to force Ellie down while bounding her power with a spell, I just knew that Will would come along and save her. But when he doesn't, I knew that something must be wrong and he was chained up somewhere, reapers surrounding hi with hatred. I read on excitedly to find out what is going to happen next. This proves that every little context in the book gives the reader suspense. The reaper's words and actions bound the reader in even though this book isn't a mystery novel.

In the realistic fiction book "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green, the mood of the text that I had recently read is exciting and surprising. For example, my main character Hazel just realized that her doctors approved that it was safe to fly over in a plane with her best friend Augustus to meet an author. This shows that the part of the book was exciting and surprising because the doctors didn't allow Hazel at first so she was depressed. Finally after awhile, they approved it so it was exciting. Another example is when Augustus, boy that Hazel has a crush on, admits he loved Hazel and just left Hazel speechless. This shows that the part of the book was exciting and surprising because throughout the book, Augustus and Hazel had always had a crush on each other. Love has finally been shown in the couple and it left a joy in Hazel which happen rarely due to her cancer.

Elva C. | 40 comments In the realistic fiction book, Fade Out by Nova Ren Suma, the mood of the book is tense. For example, the main character, Dani is always pretending that she is in a movie, when she comes into a situation. There was a girl's shadow that she saw in the projection room in the the Little Art theater. Dani was suspicious of who is in there so she followed her to find out who she is. This shows that there is tension in this scene because when Dani was so close to find out who the girl was, she disappears. It becomes tense because Dani lost the girl when they turned in the corner. Another example is when Dani wanted to run away from home. She imagined herself in a pitched black place and about to jump from her home to run away, and wearing a dress, heels, and a hat. This shows that the book shows tension because Dani wants to run away from home and leave her mom. Dani wants to run away from home in a tense way where she makes expressions and a camera following her.

Jack Brill | 41 comments In the non fiction-book "Always Running" by Luis J. Rodriguez, the mood of the book mood is angry. For example the main character's brother was killed in a shootout and he was very angry because he wanted to find the guy who killed him. This shows the mood angry because he can not find the guy who killed his brother.Another example that shows the mood angry is when the main character was out late at night and was walking home and got jumped by five other guys and stole his stuff and they got away and never got caught. This shows the mood angry because he couldn't find the guy.

Steven Lin | 27 comments In the fiction book The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan, the mood of the story so far is suspenseful. One example is in the book so far Sadie is running away from a god that has taken the body of her grandpa and transformed in to a gigantic beast. This makes the mood suspenseful because she is running away from a beast and her friends are also involved, she does not want her friends to get caught in her business, so she has to find a way to get them to a safe place. Another example is that Carter is looking for Sadie. This is suspenseful because he has to find Sadie and he knows that Sadie is in danger but he does not know where she is.

Michael Vu | 24 comments in the fiction book "divergent" i would say the mood right now is arkward.manys things happen to fast one after aother which can be hard to catch up on for example in the morning she enters the bus where she introducts her brothier then a page after a page she is shoved by someone becuase of her clan. how did she even get there? this shows arkward fits becuase you sometimes do not understand whats going on. aother example is when she was told to take a "test to find out her plan. when you hear test you think teachers, pens, paper, time limt. but then she is transported in her mind to some place where a voice talks to her and makes her do stuff. this shows that it did not fit in the story in anyway and was out of place

Seige | 17 comments In the book Unwholly By Neal Shusterman, The mood in the book will be motivated because conner and Risa are watching the Graveyard and the teens. They have to make sure they stay healthy and protected. Risa makes sure they are healthy and Conner just over looks the Graveyard. But Risa is also paralyzed so its even harder for her. Also Lev works for the graveyard helping the teens not get unwounded by the parents.

Kailey | 23 comments In the story "Is that my baby, baby?" the mood is tense. For example William has to visit Harry his father when his mom goes lets him stay over because of the marriage incident. This shows William who hasn't reached the age of one yet his life environment is very tense. Another example is that Jess' ex husband doesn't agree with the fact of her being with his band mate he starts to tell the press false information about her and her personal lie she asked him not to tell them after he agreed not to. This proves the mood in this story is tense.

message 12: by Essam (new)

Essam Alhumoz | 20 comments In my book "Death Cure" the mood is very tense. For example Thomas has just escaped from WICKED and is scared if they might be tracking him and his friends. This shows that the mood is tense because Thomas doesn't really know if hes being tracked or not, but he still fears that he is. Another example is that his friend Teresa that he though he was close to ended up ditching him at WICKED and left with her team. This shows that the text is tense because Thomas doesn't know if he can still trust Teresa after she ditched him and his friends to leave with her friends.

Jevel Gilbert | 18 comments In the book, Catching Fire, the mood in my text is dangerous. One example is when Katniss and peeta came back from the hunger games and the capitol killed a man for figthing for his rights. Another example is when the districts where fighting against the capitol because they thought they were stronger and bigger ever since Katniss and Peeta won the hunger games. The reason why the districts thought they were stronger and bigger because they were treated like they were animals and the captiol didn't show respect at all. This shows that the captiol and the districts are dangerous.
