Awesome!! Thanks everyone! I can't wait to here what you all have to say. I'm curently working on the sequel so it will be great to here what you like and what you don't like.
You just got bumped to the top of my TBR. Once I finish the non fantasy BOM I will look at yours:) I am travelling at the end of the week so should get plenty of reading time.

Cool! How is you second novel coming? Are you finding the second one harder to write? I am at times and I'm not sure why.
Oh yes, thanks for asking. I pretty much rewrote the end. Almost there now but having decided what I was going to do for book 3 is better served as a short story I need to tinker a few bits for the new direction. Book 2 is longer, much longer and a lot gets revealed and a few "Oh shit" moments happen:)I should finish Shadow of the Wraiththis week so as I am travelling a bit again I can probably start yours soon.
Good morning everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I've decided to change publishing companines and I will be republishing The Dragon Within. I'm finally going to be able to address the issues I've had with the editing and some other small touch ups. I'm very excited!
Just saying up to chapter 12:) Was a bit slow to start but liking it now. The magic is interesting and the whole goddess stuff is good.:)
Yeah, I had a lot of background stuff to cover to introduce people to thier world. I tried not to have too much of an info dump, but I think it was necesary. Do you have a favorite character?
I like Karah, and I like the new little guy whose name escapes me. The mage annoys me a bit, but I can't put my finger on why. Shifty so and so who is DEFINITELY up to something for his own ends, maybe.
I'm about 30% of the way in. The library enforcers are 'encouraging' me to finish the stuff I've got out (You mean people other than myself use the library? What's up with that?), but I've been squeezing some reading in as time and opportunity allows. Thank God for Whispersync.
Sorry I haven't had a chance to check in for a few days. The little guys name is Deneoes and I love him. He's fun and sarcastic and he was fun to write. I'm glad you like Karah. I tried to make her out to be a strong heroine, but I also realized even the strong have weak moments. I like how she grows throughout the story, but still tries to hang on to her mortal emotions. Fitch is hiding something but you don't find out what in this book. Sorry! Once you discover more about his past you will understand why is emotional stunted. Are you liking it so far Walter?
Has anyone got to the part where she finds out what she is? What did you think?
It's a good story, Cindy, and I like the heroine.Unfortunately, I'm only about halfway through, and I doubt I'll be done by the end of the month. So much going on here, and I had to finish my library books so I could turn them in. But as I told Thad, I will finish it. Lbrary stuff is done now, so that won't be an issue from here on out.
I would like to say I do really like the story but the swapping POVs is a little distracting (at least for me.) The characters are cool and I am really looking forward to how they get themselves out of the pickle they are in:)
The multiple POV's was a gamble for me. I really like writing in first person, but I didn't want to have the story told strictly from Karahs POV. I tried to only switch POVs at chapter breaks but I know in a couple of instances I had to change in the middle. I'm keeping the same style for the rest of books, but I'm not going to have so many POVs. I've learned a lot since this book and I think my second is shaping up to be better.I'm glad you like the story though. ;)
I can get a bit confusing but as I am reading on the bus I tend to read a bit then take a break. I have such a terrible memory I sometimes lose track. Once you learn the styles of the characters it isn't too bad. The scenes are quite short anyway so it is not too hard to follow and the story flows well enough.Oh yes Reaper... I didn't see that one coming...
Still think Enthor is up to something:) I have about 20% left.
When I finish I will leave a review. Not sure I can on Amazon as its fantasy but will try and review on my blog as well.
Finished. Here is the review. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...Will share to my blog and facebook at some point as well.
Nice one Cindy, I enjoyed it. When is the next one due?

So I'm hoping the next one will be out by this fall. I'm republishing this one within the next month so I'm pretty happy about that.
The next book is called The Dragon Calls and it will be focusing mainly on two parts, Elric trying to free Ililsaya and her finding and discovering her role in her world. Enthors past is revealed pretty early in the book and its one of those "I hate him but I understand situations". He's not a bad dragon, but being a dragon is not the same as being human so a lot of lines are blurred.
Is that good surprise or bad? He is in the second quite a bit as well, but he has a hard time with the rest of the group. No one understandably trusts him and he has to battle not only his inner daemons, but also acceptance among the others. He's not looking for forgiveness just redemption.
Cindy, I am almost done with it. I enjoy the first person aspect. This is actually a style I was going for in my trilogy. But, my writing style wouldn't stay in that style. It takes a lot of effort to remain in the first person present! In the end my editor gently prodded me in the first person past POV style I ended in.
The characters are fun, and the twists have been interesting too. I have to say I knew who the prisoner was the moment you mentioned her, a few other items were also predictable. Still I am enjoying the book and have actually snuck out of work once just to read for another half hour. That is a very good sign!

I didn't guess:)I still want to know what that crafty mage is up to. Don't like him - he be sneaky. (Well I do, I love sneaky characters.)

I'm surprised! ;) That's ok, I hope I can surprise you at the end with Reaper! I'm really glad you like the story. I'm almost done with the rewrite and it should be relaunched by the beginning of June.

You have to remember that Enthor isn't just a mage, he's a dragon and he doesn't see things the way a mortal does. He sees everything as a means to an end and he doesn't consider how it makes others around him feel. He has a lot of secrets and I promise they are all revealed in the next book.
I finished it. I'll be writing a review for it later this week. But, I can say I liked it a lot. Fun story and some great plot twists.
I have to laugh because my readers are yelling at me for my cliffhanger endings and yet this book ends on a pair of steep cliffs. :^)
I still need to digest a few items. But, I would say this is going to get at least 4 stars.

Thanks for the review!! I've had it in to get reedited, and within the next two weeks it will be republished. Thank you everyone who took the time to read my story and I 'll let you know when the second one is due out. I promise it won't be too much longer!

Did you do any rewrites or just correcting the occasional dialog blips and typos?
i.e. do I need to read it again... :^)

Lol! No I didn't change the story! I did some rewording here and there to make it flow better but I didn't change anything to do with the plot!
