I like George more - she's smart and practical :-) but I totally relate to Bess because of her love of food and shopping <3
They're both cool and are important to the stories, but I do enjoy the smart mouth things George says, so I would maybe say George. :)
Well,I like them both,but I think I'll go with George because she's brave(I'm not saying Bess isn't brave)and smart.(Bess is smart too.)Any yeah,what about you,Kathy?

Bess is cool, too. I noticed you voted for George though, Charmaine!
True, Ann :-) I like George more than Bess, but I still like Bess :-) and I felt a bit sorry for her that she didn't really get any votes XD

Neither is really like me, but I must say I do prefer George if only for the fact that she's not scared to follow Nancy's plans but Bess sometimes holds the story up.
Hi Tara! :) I know what you're saying - I guess maybe some of the authors think for interest or humor one of them needs to be kinda timid or something. :P But as we're reading, we're anxious to explore the mansion, etc., not stand around being afraid! :D
I guess the plus side of Bess being a little on the timid side is that it makes Nancy look more heroic, haha. She helps emphasize the level of danger Nancy tackles that we might not notice as much without her there, always second guessing the plan. I guess my point is, the series definitely wouldn't be the same without Bess! ;D I also like George, and I don't think I have a favourite yet.
Bess and George were both unkind to Nancy in Sign of the Twisted Candles. I was very disappointed in them!

Hi Andrea! :) That's not cool and it's out of character. :( I prefer reading about how they are loyal friends. :)
Tara (Duchess of Grammar) wrote: "Yeah, I like them both, too, and agree that both cousins are pretty necessary."Cool. :)
It's actually a super hard decision for me! They both have such different interests and personalities :) I recently watched one of the old Nancy drew episodes from the tv show and they only had George in it, but made her personality more like Bess, so it was like a combo. That REALLY bothered me!
I LOVE those shows!!!! I watch them ALL the time! In the first season they have George more often, but they both make appearances throughout the show.
Aww, Bess needs more spotlight :-) I still haven't seen those old Nancy Drew tv shows, but I really need to, heh heh!
Emily ~* Refuse to Sink*~ wrote: "Haha! Yeah. I know some of the episodes are on Netflix, but my library also has them."Me too! I get them from the library :)
Ooh I'll look them up on netflix :-) I'll see if my library has them too :-)
I heard there's a tv show with the hardy boys teaming up with Nancy Drew. Have any of you seen that one?

Um, well, I have a few. I really like:Witch's Hallow
Ghost Writer's Cruise
Pirate's Cove or whatever it's called
Whispering Walls
ND and the HB meet Dracula
African Safari
Hollywood Phantom
Strange Fate of Flight 608
Acapolco Spies
And probably a bunch of other one's that I can't remember. I really don't like the ones where they replaced Pamela Sue Martin as Nancy. I don't watch those ones.

That's what we're talking about! Haha!! :) Unless it's a new one that I haven't heard of...
I love the two of them together, but I relate more to George. That said, I went through a brief phase in 2nd grade where I wanted to be called Bess, just like in the Nancy Drew books. (My name is Elizabeth, after all.)
