Jakk looked around. "Nice place."he said looking at the expensive stuff
"Yeah try not to drip blood over anything." Lidia said dismissively. She stumbled to the bathroom where she had a first aid kit.
Jakk made it to a couch. "Well i wont not in this nice place."he said grabbing a few things and putting it in his pocket
"Steal anything and dripping blood will be the least of your worries." She called absently as she touched the crystal patch on her chest. It dissolved and blood poured into her sink. She quickly pressed a bandage to it and wrapped another bandage around that.
He put everything back the way it was. He stood up and stretched then sat back down looking at his chest
She walked out holding her shirt to her chest with one hand while using the other to hold the ends of a bandage to her back. "Can you tie this?" She asked, flipping her hair over her should and turning her back to him. Blood trickled down her back from the exit wound of the bullet but she couldn't see it.
"Your back is bleeding badly. Hold on."he said running in the bathroom and grabbing a bandage and then coming back putting it on and tying it. "There we go."
"Uhhh sure."he said nervous. He took off his shirt and stood there
She wiped at the blood slowly and touched the crystal patch. Like hers it dissolved under her touch and blood poured out. She quickly covered the wound with the gauze and dressed his wound.
He winced a little then relaxed
She turned her back to him again and pulled her shirt on, realizing belatedly she should have done that before attending to his wound.
Jakk stared at her for a second then turned away putting his own shirt on
"Probably shouldn't stay here long." She said, grabbing her spare pair of spectacles. Her original ones had fallen off somewhere along the way, probably in the car earlier when she had jumped out. "They know who I am, this will be the first or second place they look."
"Uh yeah. Ok then where do we go?"he asked thinking
"I'd like to stop by my lab if we have time." Lidia said, thinking. "But other than that I have no idea. I've never been in a situation like this."
"Well how's your automail holding up?"he said looking at his hand
"REally you sure about that?"he asked looking at her
"Come on we need to go to an automail shop soon, ok?"he said walking in
"I'm fine." She said, shaking her head. Even as she said it and tried to move past him her limp was obvious.
"Funny not from what i see."he said following
"This is normal." She finally admitted. "After everything that happened today it's not surprising that my movements have regressed. This is probably what I should be walking with. You know how long it takes to get used to automail don't you?" She asked, sitting down despite their need to keep moving.
"Yeah it took mea couple o weeks."he said sitting with her
"So adjust fully?" Lidia asked skeptically. "Because if that's true you're a freak. It takes a normal person five years. To get used to it. Even if they're little." She said.
"Not fully just to get used to it. Took me six years to get adjusted to it."he said laughing
"Wow thats why you were having toruble."he said looking at iy
"Yeah." She said and struggled to stand. Her automail leg threatened to buckle beneath but they needed to keep moving.
"Here we go again."he said staning up and helping her
"You don't have to help me you know. They don't know who you are. Hell I don't even know who you are. You should just leave. I'll be fine on my own." She said, steadying herself.
"Sure they dont know me but now i know who they are. Dont you think that will make them look for me?"he asked giving her a serious look
"So you can just leave town. It'll be a hellouva lot harder to find you than it will be to find me." She said.
"Thats nice of you....but im a gentleman and a gentleman's job is never don especially when a lady is in need of help."he said standing there
She looked at him skeptically. "Even after facing whatever those things were you still want to help me. You must be crazy." She said, shaking her head. She turned her back to him and limped into another room. She returned a few minutes later with a bag slung over her shoulder.
"What can i say? A pickpocket and a thief is always insane."he said smiling and winking at her
"Im Jakk Jones at your service."he said bowing slightly. "And you are?"
"Lidia Tringham." She said, nodding her head. She held her silver pocket watch and looked at it ruefully. "Probably won't be needing this anymore." She said but put it back in her pocket anyway.
"Ill take it."he said holding his hand out
"No way." She said. "I earned it fair and square. Besides if nothing else I can sell it later." She shrugged and limped out of her apartment. She looked back one last time forlornly, wishing she could come back.
"dont worry i already got one."he said smiling and following
"I might have picked one up once when i met a state alchemist. How do you think i could transmute so well?"he asked catching up to her
"Yeah well i was lucky. State alchemist taught me what i do."he said cocky
"Yeah thanks. No need to rub it in."he said
