That's a good idea (I think) Ashleigh;)

message 7: by Clarissa (new)

Clarissa | 2 comments Oh yes. I have a database of them all & I can't remember the exact number but it's over 1600 books (the figure is probably helped by the fact that I still have a lot of my books from when I was a kid)

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) I haven't but I know what I'll be doing when I get home. I have this horrible feeling that I'll have less than I feel like I should. :C

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) I'm constantly in competition with myself. :P

I don't like lending my books Ashleigh....many years ago I lent one to a work mate of my husbands and when it finally came back it was wrecked!!! I swore then, never again!

Elaine | 2001 comments Oh gosh. Just thinking about counting all my books just makes my head hurt!!! I wouldn't even know how to begin. There are books everywhere in our home. Wall to wall bookshelves in the rumpus room, shelves in the lounge room and bedroom. And more books on the floor in the lounge and on the hall stand and what about the kids' rooms?? See what I mean...it's too huge to contemplate. I'm thinking that most of us here are like that and are hoarders of books...I should really say collectors. I know I should probably give away some and let someone else enjoy them but I just can't.And yes I don't really like lending my books. In our book club everyone knows not to ask to borrow my copy of a book!!!

Kate (fictionalkate) | 69 comments I think I only own a couple of hundred. I love buying new books but I'm trying to cut back...

Sometimes I feel like the good people of goodreads are enablers!

Well I include most of the kids' books in my books as I've usually bought most of them or they're mine from when I was young!!! But it certainly has made me curious now Ashleigh..maybe I'll do it next time I spring clean...although that doesn't happen too often...usually too busy reading. Lol!!

Bronwyn Rykiert | 315 comments The only counting I do of books I have read or books that I have to read are on the good reads site. I think it is a great way to count books. Most of the books I read come from the library. Lately I am listening to a lot more audio books that reading books. I find I can read/listen to more that way.

message 20: by Amy (new)

Amy | 23 comments I am starting my collection from scratch again, so there won't be too many :(
But I couldn't possibly count the ebooks. One download alone was every book that has won the pulitzer prize from 1969 or something lol
