Oh, I saw the movie and thought it was AWESOME! But when I tried to read the first book, I got bored and tuned off on the series.

I usually say books are better than movies, but there are exceptions.

One that comes to mind is "Eat, Pray, Love". I like the movie better because the whining stuff was taken out of the movie.

I think they're two different kinds of storytelling, each satisfying a different kind of audience need, one more audiovisual and the other intensely psychological. Sometimes, for what they are, a book and movie telling the same story may be just as good.
