Obssessed With Harry Potter discussion

I really am torn with this character. At one hand, he was brave, loyal and good friend and Harry's dad. But at the other he was tormenting Snape in school which is terrible.

I LOVE James he's awesome...the way he and Sirius are.... they're so close and yet they're not even brothers.

James is awesome!!!!!!Just think about it like this. James eventually changed and stopped being mean to Snape. He married Lily, and sacrificed himself for her and his son. Snape on the other hand, chose to follow Voldemort. Proving that he loved the Dark Arts more than he loved Lily.

James is a good guy. He came far from his days of teasing Snape. I feel like he would've been a great father.

James Potter gets hated for being a show-off - and believe me he was - but I think it says a lot about his character that he became an animagus at fifteen and never told or bragged to anyone.

Because achieving such difficult magic - and at fifteen years old - would give someone like him license to show off, wouldn’t it? But never did.

So i think it’s valid to say that his arrogance wasn’t his most prominent trait, but rather his loyalty and high regard for honor and friendship.

James Potter is one of those characters I'm on the fence about. I love his sense of loyalty and how fun-loving and his kindness and the fact that he seemed like such a loving, understanding person. And believe me, I ship Jily as much as the next Potterhead, although I really didn't a while ago. But I don't like how rude he was to Severus for no reason other than the fact that James was kind of a jerk as a teen and I hate how he seemed very arrogant. Still, I think overall I like him as a character. I like Lily better, honestly, but I really like James too and think they do make a good pair in an odd way. I guess what I'm saying is, young James was kind of an arrogant jerk, but I really like how James must have gotten around his seventh year or so.

I like Lily (Lily and Ginny are my 2 favorite characters) better but I still like James. c: Marauder Awesomeness!!!!!

My favorite characters by far are Hermione, Ron, and Luna, but I also love Neville, Lily, and Dumbledore. Let's just say I really like a lot of characters in Harry Potter XD
