((Sorry my computer booted me off Goodreads, I have no idea why))Aria walked into the cafe, and smiled, thankfully there weren't very many humans in here. She wasn't a huge fan of humans and their traitorous ways. That's why she came to Broken Bay, to learn to curb her distaste for humans.
((It's happened to me to xD))Kiva already sat at a table, sipping at his hot chocolate he had ordered only a few minutes ago. After a second, he pulled a small action figure out of his pocket, about the size of a forefinger. Kiva usually carried stuff like this around because it entertained them to animate them and have them march around the table.
Aria grabbed her soothie, and turned around to look for a table. Her eyes landed upon a guy with moving...toys...on his table. Her eyes narrowed as she caught the humans that were around staring at that as well. Her eyes narrowed, the number one rule of Broken Bay was never to let humans know what you were. She marched over to his table, "There are humans in here you know," she said slighty below a whisper, but she knew he could hear. Immortals had impossibly good hearing.
"As far as they know, it's battery operated. I promise I'm not as idiotic as I look," Kiva said with a small smile, letting the toy drop to its side and become normal.
Thunder cracked loudly through the air outside, shaking the building, and the sky turned gray. Rain began to pour from the sky, "Sorry, I'm on edge around them..." Aria muttered sheepishly, it's been a long time since she lost control of her powers. Her dark grey eyes looked at the sudden weather change outside.
"Weather control? Nice," Kiva said in awe, "And why? They're just humans. If they really tried to do anything to you, it would be incredibly easy to beat them. They really don't pose that much of a threat."
"Among other things," she grinned at him, "I've had a difficult past with humans, it's easy for them to set me off sometimes." she arched a brow, silently asking him if she could sit down.
He nodded slightly, not giving any insight to the fact that he also had a rough time with humans too. Without a word, Kiva slid the other chair out from under the table as an invitation for her to join him.
Aria nodded and sat down, "Thank you," the weather outside suddenly cleared, it didn't look like it had rained at all. "So how long have you been here? Oh I'm Aria but the way." she gave him a dazzling smile.
"I'm Kiva," he said, smiling quietly, "And I haven't been at Broken Bay to long. Maybe 7 months? I don't really keep track of time anymore."
"Ah, longer than me. I've only been here a few weeks. It's nice to meet you Kiva, that's a very unique name. I like it." Aria had no problems talking to other Immortals, only humans.
"To learn to control myself around humans. How about you?" she smiled at him. And finished off her soothie.
"Before coming here, I had never met anyone like myself. I wanted to see the others and learn about what we are," Kiva said with a shrug.
"Hmm...I try only to hang out with our kind. I've tried finding my birth parents with no luck. It's like they don't want to be found," she sighed getting up to get another soothie.
Kiva got up and followed, not really thinking about it. "It's hard to find someone who lives forever, what with all the moving and identity changes," he said with a frown.
"I suppose, though it is sad to think that they didn't want me, just like the family they left me with." Aria, rubbed the back of her neck without thinking.
