I haven't read either book, so I can't help with your question. I just wanted to say that I'm so glad you posted this question. I just bought the four books in the Fallen Star series and wasn't aware there was a new series based off of it. I really don't like to start a series until all of the books are completed. I'm impatient like that (and had a recent bad experience with the last book of a series that I waited on for over a year). I'll be interested in reading your review of Shattered Promises, if you do read it, to see if I should wait on reading the first series. :)
The blurb says it's a "re-imagining" of the series, but I have no idea what that means! Is it the exact same story but with 'mature content'? That would be my guess, but then I'm not sure if I want to read the book/series all over again just for a few extra steamy bits.
I've already downloaded it but my tbr list is growing exponentially so I'm trying to be selective about what I sit down to read.
I've already downloaded it because I get a bit 1-click happy sometimes. I just have such a long list to read I'm not sure I want to prioritise this over others.Saying that, I read the prologue of Breaking Nova yesterday and love her writing so I'm tempted to give this a go now.
I have not yet read it but i have read the original YA version. It is supposed to be a reimagining of the original. The characters are older, the whole book probably more mature. Im not sure how much of the storyline remains the same though. It is supposedly more than just the exact same story with a steamy scene or two added.
I've heard the YA version is a lot better. The NA is just supposed to be more condensed and some steamy scenes added.
From what I've heard it's basically the same book, renamed with more sex that's more in depth in it. How does every one feel about that? Is it a good marketing ploy, or a bad attempt to make more money in a genre that's up and coming?

I started to read it, but I couldn't get past the beginning. This felt rushed. I don't know I wasn't feeling it. If I hadn't read the YA version I probably would have liked it, but I really enjoyed the YA one

However, I really haven't given it a fair chance yet and am going to go back and read it.

I tend to have the same problem with the 1-click, lol... I have such a long list of books to read but it's great when you come across free books. I got this book free but haven't started it yet, but i have read fallen star and thought it was alright. I think it's a good idea to have them older. I also love her other books, so much some are my favorite na. so i'm hoping i really like this one.
