I recently started checking out blogs and writing my own. I'm sure, like me you're always looking for a good one or trying to promote your own.

So I wanted to start a discussion where you can tell the group about your blog or one you've found that's good.

Please don't spam the discussion. I want to allow promotion... Just don't get crazy.

Here is a link to my blog: Ramblings of a Redhead.

Mark McLaughlin (mark_mclaughlin) | 15 comments On my author's page here at GoodReads, I have a blog (I also have one at http://www.BMovieMonster.com).

On my GoodReads blog, Nightmare Revenge of the B-Movie Monster, I've posted my story "Your Turn," which has appeared in print in both the U.K. and America. It features a horrid little fellow called the Cat Man, and could be the weirdest story you'll ever read...

Patrick Baird (beatnikspy) | 3 comments My blog, The Beatnik Spy, is devoted to my love of old-fashioned Men’s Adventure fiction. I post movie and book reviews and anything of general interest to other fans of the genre. Recent posts include reviews of "The Flight of the Phoenix,""Lord Jim," and "Dog Soldiers."

I also use the blog to promote my historical action/adventure series - The Beatnik Spy. My protagonist, Gunner Quinn, is a classic man of action: a restless intellectual, non-conformist, and jaded hedonist. Reluctantly thrust into the heat of the Cold War, he battles his own government, sinister villains, shady women, and mysterious, menacing forces throughout the wild 1950s.

I’ve tried to retain everything that was good about the genre: action-oriented – if flawed – protagonists, colorful settings, nasty villains, a little sex, and plenty of action. I’ve eliminated the sexist misogyny, racial/ethnic stereotypes, and added a little more historical verisimilitude. The end results – I hope – are more of an evolution than pastiche.

Mark McLaughlin (mark_mclaughlin) | 15 comments How much do you know about the life and works of New England horror author H.P. Lovecraft? On my GoodReads blog, I've posted the Great H.P. Lovecraft Quiz -- take the quiz to measure your knowledge of good old HPL...

Have fun -- thanks! :-)
