Kathryn Scott (kathrynleighscottcom) | 63 comments Don't be shy! This is your last chance to ask a question, make a comment, share an opinion! Thanks for making this Q&A so fun. I'm thinking of doing another one elsewhere... any opinions? Twitter Party? Facebook chat? Reddit AMA? LibraryThing Chat? Google Hangout? Tell me...

Stephanie | 171 comments You know it may be that Down and Out's so recent a book, that not all that many people have had a chance to read it yet. Maybe they have, but I know I had to pretty much had to rush through it. I would have liked to have had a little more time to read it, but at least I finished it in time for the book discussion here. Plus, this is tax week, so I think lots of people are working on that.

I'm thinking the word will get out slowly but steadily about your book, after it's been out for a while and you go to more book signings, and Dark Shadows events. I don't think all that many people realize you write about more topics than Dark Shadows. When they think of an entertaining, thoughtful & fun mystery with quirky characters, they may not necessarily think Kathryn Leigh Scott. Not yet! I think once more people read it, they'll realize how you write great stories about a lot more than just Dark Shadows.

The twitter party did really well last time it seemed, didn't it? Lots of people on there. That might be a good idea. Tons of people are on facebook too. I never even tried Reddit or Google Hangout. I'll have to see what they're all about.

I'll be sure to write up some good reviews for you too!

Denise | 52 comments Kathryn, earlier I suggested to you an appearance at the American Library Association Conference. I have been puzzled all these years that you never brought Pomegranate Press to ALA, since they do have an area for small presses, and they come regularly to the West Coast every year or so: last summer in Anaheim, this past January in Seattle, and the summer of 2015 in San Francisco. The summer conferences get over 20,000 attendees. It's almost as as good a book event as BookExpo.

Denise | 52 comments And the general public can buy passes to the exhibit floor.

Stephanie, you are insightful! Thank you very much for your comments. Indeed, it takes a while for word of mouth to do its job! I am thrilled with the reviews from PW, Kirkus and Booklist, all of which should encourage people to pick up the book . . . and I am so pleased that readers are writing personal reviews. It all helps!

Aw, shucks! Thanks so much, and I'm so glad I could help out a little bit! I still have more reviews to write, and I'm sure you'll be getting many more good ones from other people too.

This book was an unexpected delight for me. One of my favorite people writing about some of what I went through, while putting an exciting and hopeful twist on it all! There's light at the end of the tunnel!
