Endangered discussion

I really hate wasting food and I was wondering if it was okay to put food out for the animals in my backyard. Not heavily seasoned foods but say for instance bland foods.

Growing up, I had a friend whose parents would always leave food outside on an alter for the animals. o.o;; I know that sounds weird but I kinda like what they are trying to do. I do know that salty and sweet foods are unhealthy and deadly to animals. But what about unseasoned leftover chicken? Or white rice?

Hm...That's a very good question. I DO know that putting out compost is helpful, but with rice I don't know...Maybe brown rice, because it is natural, and what animals live around there that eat chicken? I think you'd be fine...but I could be wrong.
