When Cora came to, she was on a couch in an unfamiliar room. Some random man standing over her, she screamed, jumped up and ran to the door.

Groaning, Rule ran after her, "Cora, will you calm down." He asked her as he came up behind her, "It's just Paxton and Lucca. They wont harm you."

Cora turned around narrowing her eyes, and bared her canines at him. "You try waking up in a house full of people who have always wanted you dead!" She frowned, she didn't know why she was so angry.

"you just saved our alpha female, I don't think anyone wants you dead." Rule told her.

"Not now..." she replied in a small voice. Her wolf was going crazy, she want to touch Rule. It freaked Cora out, she didn't understand what was going on. She fought her wolf, she wasn't just going to walk up to him and touch him.

"Well true." Rule said smirking, "Soon you'll be my sister in law, so I can't kill you." He winked at her and walked towards the kitchen to get a beer.

"You wouldn't be able to kill me anyways," she replied cockily, as a Luna she was untouchable by both packs. A Luna wasn't considered to belong to a certain pack, her gift belonged to all weres. Cora didn't care who she healed as long as she helped them.

Rule just nodded in understanding, "Wanna a beer? Or maybe a juice box?" She looked young, he didn't know how old she was.

"A juice box? Do I look like I'm 14 or something?" Cora arched a brow at him, finally looking him in the eyes. She couldn't help but to feel incredibly attracted to him. Her wolf was practically panting at the color of his eyes, they were like gold.

"I was going to say fifteen but that works too." Rule joked as he threw her a fruit punch juice box, which was actually Envy's. She was addicted to them.

Cora caught it distractedly. Wasn't he affected by her at all? Or was she just going crazy? Her wolf whined wanting to be closer to him, that just made her frown even more. What the hell was going on here? Why was her wolf acting like a love sick, pup? "Actually, I'll be 20 this year..." she replied softly looking down.

Sure Rule was attracted to her, but he wasn't going to mess with those feelings. She was a silvermoon member and a Luna. He couldn't touch her even if he wanted to.
Rule laughed at her, "I knew you were older than fifteen, I was just joking." He said taking a drink of his beer, "I turned 21 a couple months ago."

"So did my brother...happy belated birthday! I just got back into town, I wasn't actually supposed to be here until tomorrow. Funny how things work out...I guess it's a good thing I graduated early..." Or Envy would be dead right now, she finished the sentence in her head.

"Thank you by the way." Rule said, "You know for saving my sister." His face was full of emotions, he would be a wreck right now if she had died. "I wonder how our brother feels about that." He thought aloud.

Cora looked back up at him, and sighed, "You're welcome, I couldn't have let her die. I'm just glad I got there in time...my own brother wasn't as lucky." tears filled her eyes as she thought about Connor. She still felt like it was her fault, like she had let him die. She blinked away her tears and replied to his thought, "Well he could have gotten out of this arranged mating, none of you knew what I was. He could have let her die, and none of you would have known that I could have saved her. But he called me. That says a lot."

All rule wanted to do was to hold her while she cried, but he stayed where he was and watched her. Clearing he throat he spoke, "that's what I don't understand, Envy and Fenris hate each other. But I saw the look on his face when he saw her dead body, he looked so...lost. I don't understand why he would of called to save her when he had an automatic out of the arranged mating."

Cora should have been mad at that question, but she wasn't. "Because he's a good guy, even though he comes off as an ass. It's because he's afraid to let anyone close to him." Cora sighed, she was going to tell him a pack secret, "Silvermoon has a harsher stance on rouges than your pack does...well that's because. That's because rogues kill both Fenris, and Connor when I was 13. We were out in the woods for a run and the rogues came out of no where. My brothers told me to run as they tried to fight them off. I ran back when I stopped hearing a struggle, to find both of my brothers dead..." Cora voice caught, and tears began streaming down her face. "I didn't know. I didn't know what I was. I couldn't save him..."

Gritting his teeth he stayed where he was. He didn't want to touch her. He didn't need Fenris or the entire Silvermoon pack coming after him when she left with his sent on her. "I'm so sorry Cora." He told her from behind the counter.

"Why?" her teary gaze met his, as she spoke quietly, "You have nothing to be sorry for, you didn't let him die...I did." she walked over to him, and looked up into his eyes. Her wolf was howling for her to touch him, her wolf wanted him, and surprisingly Cora did too.

"You can't blame yourself for that, Cora." Rule said softly, "You were a child, you didn't know what you were doing. Be happy that you still have one of your brother's." He told her as he walked around the counter and stood closer, but still didn't touch, "With out them telling you to run, you would of been dead too and if you had died, then Envy would be dead too today."

Cora's silver eyes looked into his, and she felt like her insides were melting. "Are you afraid to touch me?" she accidentally said her thought out loud, unaware that she had done so.

Choosing to be honest with her, he nodded, "Yes." he said simply.

"Why?" Cora cocked her head to the side as she asked. She start to wipe the tears from her face, blushing because she probably looked like a raccoon right now.

"Your brother wouldn't like it much if I did." Knowing what if felt like to be a protective older brother, he knew for a fact that Fenris wouldn't like it. Just like how he didn't like it that someday Fenris would have to touch Envy.

"My brother? You actually care?" She raised her eyebrows at this. She didn't think Rule was the type of guy that would bend to her brother. He did have alpha blood, just like her after all. She moved closer to him, slightly challenging him, she wondered what he would do.

((Do you really want them to find out at the same time that they are mates?))

"He's an alpha and one day be my alpha male, so yes I care." Rule said. His eyes widened as she moved closer, but he didn't move, he stayed perfectly still.

"Well he's not your alpha today, is he?" she replied, with a teasing smirk. She seen the way his body stilled, and frowned. She took a step back, "Sorry," she muttered as she turned to walk away. She needed to get home anyways, she couldn't do this. Her and Rule had no future, it wasn't as if they were mates. And Cora had been waiting for her mate.

"Nothing to apologize for Cora." Rule said, running a hand through his dark hair, "your brother took your car remember? I'll drive you back to your territory." Rule offered.

Cora sighed, she didn't want to be close to him. Her wolf was going crazy, trying to get out to get to him. She couldn't let herself lose control like that. Without turning back to look at him, because she knew she wouldn't want to leave if she did, "No, thank you, but no...I'm good." She reached for the door handle, her wolf was snarling at her for trying to leave.

Without really thinking, Rule put his hand on her shoulder to get her from leaving. His wolf was driving him crazy, it being upset that the Luna was leaving

Cora felt shocks shoot down her arm as he touched her, but it didn't hurt. Her wolf was purring in contentment, but wanting to get closer to him. She frowned and turned around to face him, confusion etched upon her face.

Rule had felt the shocks too and at first he thought it was just electricity but when they continued to run through him he realized what they were, "Mates."

Cora's eyes grew wide when she heard what he said...mates. No, that was impossible. She bit her lower lip, and took off for the door. Before she got there the door was thrown open by Envy and Finn. She pushed pass them and ran out the door. Finn shouted after her with concern, "Corie? Corie, what's wrong?" He gave Envy a "what the hell look" and chased after his sister.

Envy shrugged, not knowing what as wrong either and walked towards the kitchen, opening the refrigerator, "Who the hell drank my last juice box?" She yelled, her voice ringing through the vast space. She was still mad at Finn so she was taking it out on everyone else.

Rule didn't know what to do, he wanted to go after her, but he didn't want to scare her off...again. Clenching his jaw, he answered envy's question, "My mate did."

Envy gasped and her jaw just about hit the floor. How the hell was it possible that they had found their mates on the same day.

"Corie, what's wrong?" Finn had finally chased her down, almost a mile away from the Shadowfield pack house. He was on alert, just in case some of their wolves caught their scent and attacked without thinking.

Cora felt horrible, she couldn't believe she had just done that. Rule was her mate, the word excited her, but scared her at the same time. "I...we, Rule and I..." Cora started, but Finn cut her off with a snarl.

"You and Rule, what? Did he make a move on you, Corie?" Finn growled out, if Rule hurt is baby sister, so help him because Finn was going to kill him. He smelt Rule's scent on her, it was faint, but it was there.

"We're mates..." Cora said softly, not wanting Finn to go after her mate, "We're mates, and I just ran from him, Finn. He probably hates me! I don't know what in the world I was thinking, I just panicked!" Cora wanted to shoot herself in the face.

"Well, we'll just have to go back. You can say you're sorry, I'm sure he doesn't hate you! Who could hate a face like that," Finn calmed down as he teased her, and pinched her cheeks. Normally, he would have been mad at them being mates, but how could he with Envy being his mate.

Envy sat drinking a juice box she had found at the back of the fridge when she was randomly picked up and thrown over someone's shoulder. She knew she was small but she was seriously sick of being picked up. She would of fought her captor but she knew it was just paxton. "Put me down you caveman!!" she shrieked and pounded on his back.

"It's Thursday and you are late for our weekly sparring match." He said walking her down two flight of stares and into the sparring room, where he dropped her not so gently on the padded mats. "Go change, I'll wait for you." He said walking towards the ring and climbing in. He already wore his loose draw string shorts and a loose fitting tshirt with the sleeves cut off. Rolling her eyes, Envy went to the locker room and changed into her short black spandex shorts and a black sports bra that she had stuffed in her locked. She walked back out to Pax, "You ready to get your ass kicked?" She asked as she climbed into the ring.

Rule rolled his eyes at Paxton as he abducted his sister. Feeling it was easier for him to go down stairs and focus on the sparring match than on his run away mate, he followed them down to the basement. This was a weekly ritual for Envy and Paxton. For someone Envy's size, she knew how to fight and won more than half of all the matches.

Finn finally talked Cora into going back to face Rule. They walked into the pack house, it was quiet. "Where is everyone?" Finn muttered to himself. He closed his eyes and listened for sounds of people anywhere. He heard scuffling noises down stairs. He motioned for Cora to follow him. When they reached the bottom Finn saw Envy battling it out with a guy more than twice her size. He arched a brow, but simply watched, he doubted she would want him to interrupt.

Cora looked at the two fighting, Envy was amazing. She was holding her own, well more than just holding her own, against the guy. She remembered his name has Paxton, the guy that had been staying over her when she woke up. Her wolf was whining and trying to get out. She looked over and noticed her mate watching the match intently. Her face turned red and she lowered her gaze. She was embarrassed by what she had done, and she hoped he wasn't too mad at her.

With the lack of clothes that Envy had on, her multiple tattoos were on display for everyone to see, along with her belly piercing. Pax came at her from her left, but she was ready for him. She sent a powerful roundhouse kick to his chest and at the same time shifted herself so she had better footing and landed a couple strong punches to his jaw. Pax had landed a couple good hits on her. She had a cut above her eye that was bleeding and her ribs were starting to bruise from a kick her had sent her way. Envy was too distracted by Pax, she didn't even realize when her mate came into the room.

Rule felt Cora's presence and turned around to see both her and Finn standing there watching the match. "She dies and she still doesn't take a break." Rule joked with Finn before sending his gold gaze to Cora. She had run from him. He couldn't believe she did that.

Finn was struggling not to stop them when he smelt Envy's blood. Her "minor" accident was still fresh on his mind. He decided to focus on helping his sister out. He picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. Walking her over to an unused room and tossed her inside, on an old mat. He shut the door as she lunged for it, laughing as he did so. He nodded over at Rule, letting him know he should go inside.

Cora snarled and tried opening the door, but Finn held it firmly shut. She stood there waiting for him to open the door, he was in so much trouble.

Envy let out a loud yelp of pain when Pax got her in a choke hold and jerked her already sore neck to the side. He then threw her to the mat and pinned her down, one hand still firmly on her neck, choking her. this wouldn't of normally happened, but she was weak and probably shouldn't already be back in the ring.
"Not so tough now are you alpha?" Pax seethed above her. their fights always got pretty heated.

Rule raised a brow at Finn, questioning his actions. Huffing out a breath he went over and walked into the room that Cora was locked in already.

Finn heard Envy's outburst of pain, he snarled and lunged for Paxton. He tackled him to the mat, with his hand in a vice grip around his throat. Finn's eyes were pitch black, "Not so tough now are you?" he shot Paxton's words back at him in a threatening tone.

When Cora heard Finn open the door, she threw a five pound weight at his head. She gasped when she realized she had thrown it at Rule instead. Thankfully he caught it with ease, but his face was nothing short of fury. Cora gulped, and stammered out, "I'm..I'm so sorry."

Envy lay still starring at the ceiling as she tried to catch her breath. She wasn't surprised at all by Fenris' action, she was actually surprised he hadn't done something similar sooner. Envy was pretty sure that Paxton had broken one of her ribs...well it wouldn't be the first time. Taking a deep breath, Envy confirmed her theory and winced in pain. It would heal it's self in a couple hours thanks to werewolf healing.

"The fuck dude?" Paxton Wheezed, "Why are you protecting her like that, it's not like she's your true mate."

"Run away from me then try to decapitate me? Nice." Rule said sarcastically as he set the weight down.

"She is mine!" Finn roared back at Paxton, tightening his hold on his throat. "She hasn't fully healed from her brush with death, and you spar with her anyways?" He lifted Paxton up, "Go get a healer." His tone left no room for argument. If he tried, Finn would probably kill him on the spot. He dropped Paxton and walked over to Envy. He held her in his arms, cradling her to his chest, "Are you okay?"

Cora opened her mouth, then sighed, looking away from him. "I meant to decapitate Finn, not you. How could I not run away from you? I've waited my whole life to meet my mate. Before I knew you where my mate, I was practically throwing myself at you! I had known you for less than a day! How could you want me after that? I was scared...," Cora took a deep breath, "Scared that you would reject me, so I ran."

((I felt it was appropriate.))

"Envy he's your true mate ?" Paxton Growled down at her as Finn picked her up. Paxton had always planned on trying to make something happen between he and the alpha, but he guess that would never happen any more.

Envy groaned as Finn shifted her, her broken rib complaining. "Don't.move.me." She grit out, her eyes filled with pain as she drew in a breath, this was the worst part about sparring with Paxton, he was a skilled fighter and packed one hell of a punch...or kick. Envy's two toned gaze flicked to Paxton, "Surprise?" She said weekly.

"How could of rejected my own mate?" Rule demanded, "My wolf fell apart when you ran out that door."

((I appreciated it, a lot.))

"I said, get a healer!" Finn turned his gaze to Pax, if he had to repeat himself he would rip his throat out. Envy was in pain and he was freaking out, so was his wolf. Maybe he should call Corie, she was here...but she was still worn out from bringing Envy back.

Cora's silver eyes, met his golden eyes, "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you." She slowly walked up to him, stopping right in front of him. "I know this is probably too little too late, but I promise never to run from you again..."

Envy shook her head, "I'm fine Finn" she promised him, "I just got a snapped rib and cut on my forehead. I'll be healed in a few hours..." She told him, trying to calm him and his wolf.

Rule really wanted to hold her but he was hesitant, not knowing how she would react to him doing so. "Cora, its not too late."

"That's too long..." Finn felt as if he was whining, but his wolf was driving him mad with worry. He needed to know she was okay, it was killing him that she was in pain.

Cora smiled at Rule, "Really?" she threw herself into his arms, snuggling against his chest. Sparks running throughout her body, her wolf was howling with approval.

"She's been in more pain than this before." Pax said rolling his eyes at Finn's worrying. "You should of seen her after a snapped her leg in half one day. Now that was pain."

Rule leaned down and kissed her head and held her close, "Really." After a few more long moments of holding her, Rule pulled back, "We should go back out there before your brother thinks i'm killing you." He told her with a smile as he lead her out of the room. He looked up at the ring and saw the pain on his sister's face, "Break another rib, little sis?" He asked her.

"Paxton, you're going to learn what pain really is if you don't shut the hell up!" Envy snapped at him and pushed a bit of her alpha waves at him, causing him to wince and quickly leave the sparring room.

Cora huffed and scowled Envy, "I can't leave you alone for five minutes without you hurting yourself!" she marched over to her and healed her. Cora gave Envy a weak smile, "You should be more careful, I might not be here next time." She was completely drained, she still hadn't rested since she brought Envy back. Her vision was turning black, Cora was about to pass out...again. She groaned, never had she felt more weak in her whole life. What kind of werewolf passes out twice in one day?

Finn smiled as Cora healed Envy, "Feel better now?" he asked her softly. He was going to take her to her room. Envy needed to rest, she could move in later. He carefully picked her up and walked up the two flights of stairs to the kitchen. "How do I get to your bedroom?"
