21st Century Literature discussion

With the addition of two new moderators to the mix, our main concern this month was devising a means of selection that allowed six people to agree (more or less) on one book. I think we've come up with a pretty good system, although it's incredibly tough to narrow down so many good book nominations to just one selection.

Our choice for May was made a little bit easier since it was the fourth time that our eventual selection had been nominated in various aspects of this group. With such an aura of inevitability about it—not to mention great critical reviews and praise from some major award panels—it didn't take us too long to decide on our Moderator Pick for May 2013:
