Was there a book that led you down the road to choosing a certain genre? Was it that book you found that was so phenomenal you couldn't stop thinking about it for over a week?

What book has touched your soul and influenced you most?

I have recently read all 7 of Abigail Roux's Cut and Run Series like an addict. I never would have thought that I would have read or enjoyed this type of read but must admit I LOVED it!!

In reading these books I have found I am much more open and accepting of sexuality on a whole.

You know one book that influenced me, and you will see an echoing of certain ideas in my own work:



Night Road by A.M. Jenkins.

A somewhat unique and interesting take on vampires.

Kelley Armstrong led me sown the path of UF, she led me to Laurell K Hamilton and she used to have this great spot on her website with links to other authors in the genre that is how I discovered Jim Butcher, Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison and a bunch of others.

Here's one that hit a lot of buttons for me.

I have never chosen a 'genre', so, I can't say which book has made me choose one.

It's hard to say which book has touched me the most too; there are so many. But I can say something along those lines: there is a book that has 'healed' me from what used to be a thing I did suffer from (in more than one way) when I was younger: jealousy. I was such a jealous person, I mean jealous, not envious, even if the two words seem to be used interchangeably nowadays. The book is, of course, Othello. It did work for me. It's strange how I identified with both Othello and Iago, as a note.

I sort of suspect it doesn't fit in with what is meant by 'paranormal romance', but I liked the question, and I am hopeless at 'genres'. But if I really have to defend the Bard's tragedy as paranormal romance, well, it's a massive romance, we know that, and isn't Iago often seen as a paranormal character, even the Devil incarnate?
