I am procrastinating on my challenge book. LOL I really don't think it's going to get more than a 2, but at the VERY most a 3...oh well, you win some and you lose some. LOL

hahaha!!! lol don't procrastinate! :D just...get push through it. That's what I had to do! thing too me ALL DAY and I didn't really like it :( I hope you like yours better than I did for mine!

I honestly kind of hate it! LOL I just don't like it at all. I ended up not giving that test today. I went over Act II with them and so tomorrow they'll have the test. Sometimes they take the entire period; other times they fly through it. I'm hoping they'll need the whole period so I can read more. LOL

I hate that..knowing I don't like the book but having to finish it....ugh.. :( Hopefully the huge amount of points is worth it

I know. So what do you think the Scum are? Just like it sounds, right? Just the scum of the prison? Finn is definitely (so far) HOT! I love how he took charge during the first scene when "the woman" wanted to save him. He duped them all, but he actually saved her when he told her to jump down the chute.

Did you get the sense that Keiro is Finn's flesh and blood brother?

I think the writing is really good so far...so glad to be out of The Giant, O'Brien! LOL

hmmm...I don't think they are flesh and blood, do you? He said "oathbrothers" which makes me think they are tied together somehow but not through blood.

but he trusts him with his life, that's for sure.

oh, and what do you think of his tattoo??

I am SO PO'd!! I wrote a LONG response/questions etc. and my computer (at schoo/work) said "we had a problem saving your comment," and now I have students coming in.

I'll try to replicate it: I had asked about brothers prior to reading ch. 5 where I read that they ARE blood related, but by mixing theirs. LOL They are bound for life, or so it seems.

I also asked what you think of Maestra? Did they ever give her name or did I miss it?

I think his tattoo will definitely identify who he is, and my prediction is that he was born to save something, someone, maybe even just himself, and that he will one day be free. LOL

Do you think the Prison is really alive, or do you think that's a metaphor. His being cell-born and only mentioning having a FATHER makes me think it is literal, whereas at first I thought it was an extended metaphor, but perhaps not.

I'm still a little confused on some of the things but it's still a cool adventure.

I wonder that will happen with the Warden because even Jared is so afraid of him. I have a feeling there's more to Claudia's father than meets the eye.

I also think that Finn is a really good guy. I can't believe the (view spoiler)[ dog-slave and how sad that is. But it's even more amazing that Finn cared enough to go back and get him and carry him to safety. Keiro is not so concerned for others. (hide spoiler)]

I only finished with ch. 10 and stopped at 11.

The irony of of Claudia thinking Finn lives in a perfect world, and Finn asking for help and wondering if there are still stars, etc. How SAD not to even know if there are still stars Outside. :o(

right!? I know, so sad.. to think they are living in paradise but they are living in absolute grime and horror. :(

but for all of Clauida's pretty world, her upper world seems just as ruthless if not as ugly

but he has Gildas. His obsession with Sapphique feels like it could put Finn in danger

It's pretty crazy that the Warden would (view spoiler)[be involved in murder to the guy who was to marry his daughter, and knowing they liked each other, too! Claudia and Jared have every reason to really be afraid of him, especially now! (hide spoiler)]

it's getting pretty fast paced now as they start to answer some of the bigger questions

I LOVE it!! I just wish I didn't have to read so much in stolen minutes here and there. I'll be reading in class and a student will come in and interrupt me. They leave and the counselor calls right after I get a minute again. Hang up, sit down, read like 3-4 sentences and someone comes in to buy a yearbook. And on and on it goes. Lol

OMG Trish!!! I just finished ch. 21 and OMG!!! I can't believe what is going on! First of all, I really thought (view spoiler)[that Jared and Claudia were going to get her our of her engagement by killing Casper (the jerk!). But now she is in the Queen's palace and there are double-sided mirrors and bugs all over! How the heck will she get out of that? (hide spoiler)] The last sentence of ch. 21 is such a cliff hanger!!!

I still wonder about Keiro because I'm not so sure he would have (view spoiler)[gone to help Finn with the BEAST (OMG!!!) if it hadn't been for Attia. (hide spoiler)] What a gutsy little thing she is! A little fireball!!

I agree because to me it's like sci-fi and I've NEVER been into that genre. It's new to me as a reader. I mean really, Incarceron a FATHER? Lol

I've been able to read some, so I'm in the middle of ch. 25. Not too far behind you. It's REALLY good, don't you think?

You know more than I do but I have to talk about the (view spoiler)[study room! Is the Prison and the Warden's house like all in the same place? And Attia, why did she get so upset with Claudia? And she was adamant that Keior would NOT have gone back for Finn if it hadn't been for the Key. And all the books/records in the library. Why didn't the book show if Finn was really born in the Prison or Outside? (hide spoiler)] SO many questions!

I just saw that you are finished witht the book and gave it 4 stars. I'm glad it turned out to be really good. I am just about to ch. 27, so I'm hoping to get done during period 7 if the kids will let me. That's my yearbook clss, but sometimes they want to talk with me so we'll see. :o)

OMG, I REALLY enjoyed this book, sci-fi or not! There was SO much action to keep up with! Did I get all of this right? (view spoiler)[The Warden is NOT Claudia's father? WOW! He replaced his newborn that died so that he could in some way help reign over the Realm? Claudia and Finn are probably going to marry, right? But the portal to Incarceron is blown up so there is supposedly no way back in? What the heck!! (hide spoiler)]

Did you know that her dad was Blaize (was that his name?) I knew he was...as soon as he came in with Finn & Keiro and as soon as her dad was not around - at the same time!

Hmmm...I'm not sure where Attia slipped to. I hope she and Keiro come together. Wouldn't they be a force? She seems the only thing that could tame him - except his blood oath with Finn.

I still believe Keiro would have come back for Finn. Just as I think Finn will come back for Keiro.

I loved when keiro said something along the lines that if Finn was a King in another place, he was guarding him like gold - because he liked the way Prince Keiro sounded. lol Keiro cracked me up at times.

I'm so so so so so glad that Finn got out, and that Claudia and Finn can now try to be together :) ahhh, HEA maybe?! :D
