Paolo screamed as he came crashing down to the earth. He wasn’t that far up, so he wouldn’t break anything, but his butt definitely was going to hurt. Hayden leaned over the Italian Prince and smirked, “Nice of you to drop in.”
“Whoa. Aren’t you beautiful. Like one of my old country’s angels…or maybe demons. Not the ugly ones, but the super evil-OW!” Hayden pulled him up by his hair.
“You think you’re pretty slick don’t you? I don’t know what kind of crap you were allowed to do in the past, but I was given permission to handle you however I want…And you aren’t going to like it.” Hayden would though. This was perfect. He had been too stressed since getting back. Life at the orchard had tricked him into thinking relaxing was normal. Making this royal pay would be a perfect way to let off some steam.

((Lol Hayden isn't mad. Glee would be mad, Hayden's thrilled he has someone to take all his anger out on. Jamie and Eli dating is very stressful for him.))

What to do, what to do…In truth, Hayden wasn’t sure exactly how much he could get away with. The guy was a prince after all. He wasn’t sure if he was next in line for the throne, but either way him being physically hurt could possibly start a war…That would be very inconvenient. So, Hayden would have to settle for mental punishment. And physical labor.

Which is why when Eli went to the front lawn looking for Hayden, he found him sitting in a lounge chair, looking uncharacteristically laid-back. Hayden’s jacket was unbuttoned and he was wearing sunglasses; all the while sipping on a drink from a straw. It made Eli do a double take. He looked around for what could make the demonic guard so relaxed and found his answer in the guy who was picking up sticks off the lawn; while wearing weighted gear. The vest alone was 100 pounds. The armbands were twenty each, the pants fifty and the legbands twenty as well.

“What the hell are you doing to him Todd?”

“Hmm?” asked Hayden a little too innocently. “Oh, well, our guest here was in need of some clothes, so I offered him some of mine. As for what he’s doing, he’s volunteering his services to help keep the beautiful palace of Illea clean. You see, Prince Paolo offended our dear Daughters of Illea. This is his way of making it up to them. He’s going to pick up every stick and twig on all the palace grounds,” A wide pearly white smile lit up Hayden’s face, “Isn’t that right Prince Paolo?”

Italian cursing could be heard coming from the said laboring Italian Prince.

“Have you lost it?” asked Eli. Suddenly he was worried for Todd’s health. “Don’t you think this’s a little harsh? Even for you? One of the palace defenses is having it surrounded by trees. If he’s a prince and he gets hurt, Glee will kill you. And what’s up with you? Why do you look so…so human? Like you are actually capable of enjoyment…”

“Glee won’t mind. I thought the punishment was rather ingenious personally. As for me, well my vacation reminded me of something.”

“What’s that?” Eli asked, almost afraid of the answer.

“I’m only here for the status.” Hayden took another sip of his drink and then leaned back, looking like he was actually basking in the sun.

“Huh?” was Eli’s intelligent response.

Hayden started to laugh, “Sorry, was that too complicated for your simpleminded brain? I mean I’m only a guard because I want to be a two. It’s not something I ever planned on doing long term. I’m going to serve my time, and leave as soon as possible.” He sighed, imagining the freedom, “I’ve been here so long I forgot what it was like to have a life. It’s pretty clear to everyone that I am more than competent at my job. The palace needs me; in other words I have job security. Which means if the opportunity arises, I’m going to relax.”

He always made things sound so much more complicated than they were. Basically he was tired of working all the time. Why couldn’t he just say that? But Eli liked what he was saying. He wondered what caused the shift. “Alright then. I guess I can understand that.”

“Good for you,” said Hayden, sounding condescending as usual. Part of this shift was because of Eli. He stole Jamie from Hayden, and it was driving him crazy. All motivation to be at the palace was sucked out of Hayden. Not when Jamie was at the palace too. If only she had been sent home, then he wouldn’t be having any problems.

“You’re such an ass…But, the one thing I don’t get is why you don’t want to do this long term. Everyone knows that General Aspen is going to hand you his position once he retires. Why would you turn that down?”

“I don’t care, he can give it to the kiss-ass Knightsbury.”

“But, what would you do instead?” Being a guard was just so Hayden. Eli couldn’t imagine him doing anything else.

Now, that was a good question thought Hayden. What was he going to do?

ALL CHARACTERS PUT ON YOUR DRESSES AND SUIT FOR THE BALL HAS BEGUN. ALL CONVERSATIONS HAVE BEEN 'PAUSED'. EVERYONE TO THE BALLROOM!

"ZAID!" Stephany called getting irritated that she could not find him anywhere. When a guy promises a girl a dance, he better deliver otherwise there would be hell to pay. Att least with Stephany. Ally was still in the ball room, being a good and proper princess as she waited for Leon to ask her to dance. Well, Stephany was totaly not going to be a proper princess now. Screw the rules, she wanted her dance.

"STEPHANY!" Zaid screamed back. He came running towards her and hid behind her back, "Protect me from that thing you call your brother. He's trying to kill me!"

Instantly her anger faded. Well, now they knew who wore the pants in this relationship.

Calaway was pissed. "Oh no, don't bother hiding dude. You messed with my sister?" He asked, and then he turned to stephany, and when he saw her red cheeks his own heated but with anger. "You have got to be friggen kidding me." He said to mainly himself.

Zaid was whimpering. "He told me he had chocolate...I love Belgium chocolate...Who lies about chocolate...That is cruelty not even the devil would use..."

Stephany glared at her brother. "I don't care who you date Calaway. I give you your privacy. Now give me mine. Leave us now" Stephany said rather annoyed at her brothers behaviour.

Honestly, Calaway felt ashamed. His sister never stuck her nose in his business/relationships, and that was exactly what he was going to her. He nodded, giving in. "I apologize. To the both of you. Enjoy your evening" He said. When he neared Zaid he said only loud enough for him to hear "Keep your hands off of her". He may be younger than his sister, but he was very protective of her. With that, he left for the ball room, leaving Zaid and Stephany alone.

Zaid stuck his hands in his pockets.

Stephany turned around, and looked at Zaid. "You owe me a dance" She said once she had calmed down a bit. "And I have come to collect" she added. She smiled lightly, but it was one dazzling smile.

He returned the smile without showing his confusion. Zaid didn't understand why Stephany seemed so in to him. At first he thought she was just trying to keep him from messing with Aaron, but she seemed to actually want to date him. What did she see in him? "Well sweetness, I never like to be in debt." He offer her his hand, "Allow me to fully repay you, maybe with a little bit of interest too." Zaid winked at her and started leading her back to the ball room.

She smiled softly. "I'll hold you to it" She said as she took his hand. At first, it was just a way to keep him away from Aaron, but along the way, she seemed to have fallen for him. She admited that she used to have a crush on him when they were kids, and it seemed that that crush had returned.
