There is a story behind most things, books are no exception. Let us hear about your favorite books. Why are they your favorite? When did you first read them? We would love to hear about it.

Alan Hammond | 4 comments The Hunger Games - After the critical acclaim and a hit movie, I decided to give the book a go. I loved it. It isn't likely to go down in history as a great work of literature, but it's precisely the type of book that motivates me to write. The target audience is youth, which is what I've felt would be a great place to break into book publishing, if I have it in me. The mix of adventure, horror, intrigue, and futuristic setting appeal to me and falls into line with what I'd like to write.

So, I liked the book for the book's sake, but loved it for what it did for me.

I really enjoyed the Hunger Games Alan. Read all three in about 2 weeks and thought the same thing you did. Not necessarily literary classics but entertaining, fun, and kept me wanting to read them.
I'm definitely a fan of them.

Your reasons are exactly why I read comic books Brad. Sometimes I don't want to know about the Treaty of Versailles, I want to see Batman upper cut a punk and kick the crap out of the Joker.
Fantasy was never really piqued my interest but I might have to pick these up.

Alan Hammond | 4 comments I've added Belgariad/Mallorion to my "to read" list, Brad. You make a convincing case and I do like fantasy more than my reading list would show.
