Sempre or Emancipation Proclamation?

I'm trying to decide whether to read Sempre or read the original fanfiction, Emancipation Proclamation, which I have on my kindle from way back when and never got around to finishing. I read about half of it and then stopped. What are the differences between the two stories, and which did you enjoy more? I've heard that the fanfic is better but that was just one person's opinion so I thought I would try to get a few more. Thanks for your help!

I knew I heard this story before.. I've only read the first chapter of sempre so I'm pretty excited to see the differences between the 2.
i havent really read sempre and emancipation is HUGE!
Since I have only brushed through sempre ...THE text seemed almost the same only much more condensed....and the names are obviously changed...
i suggest reading sempre first if you want a quick read.............
emancipation is much more detailed and you dont have to wait for a sequel....
the story goes on from where its left of in sempre..
also the work may not be as polished but it had my crying and laughing and on the edge of my seat throughout..regardless i feel both are a good read!

Can someone please lend me this book? I can't find it to buy it any longer.

I read Emancipation Proclamation and both Sempre books and I prefer the Sempre books. Vincent is less harsh with Haven and Carmine is less insensitive toward Haven in the Sempre books. I also like that the De Marcos have two sons not three like in EP. There are a few other differences that make me favor Sempre. Although, EP is a very close second because it's fantastic, too.

I have read Sempre and Sempre: Redemption and I enjoyed the whole series. It's one of my all time favorites. However, I haven't read Emancipation Proclamation, but I would definitely recommend Sempre.
I actually love Sempre. I have not read Emancipation so I can't compare nor contrast the two. My friends loved Sempre as much as I did. Haven and Carmine were dynamic characters in the story. I loved the foundation of the book and the mafia background gave it a dangerous appeal. I saw how the 2 developed into young adults given the circumstances they encountered. A great read & it deserves more than 5 stars (IMO)
