I've been reading a new cookbook Saved by Cake and the first recipe is something called Rock Cakes. From the photo they look almost like what we'd call a biscuit, but they are obviously sweet.

I'm considering trying them. Are these something that anyone familiar with them would recommend?

Seawood D'you know, I don't think I've ever made them. They're pretty much like fruit scones, only drier, which makes them more crumbly than scones. You'd probably really need some jam or cream with them, whereas if your scones are good you can get away with just butter.

Amusingly I made some muffins the other day - from a US recipe - and misread the amount of milk, only putting in 1/4 cup instead of 1/2. They came out almost exactly like these!

Okay thanks for the information! I think I'm going to try them and see how they turn out.
