How many of you have read FICTION books written by non-Filipino authors that is set in the Philippines or that centers on Philippine culture/myth?

I have not read many since it's a few months only that actually got back into reading. (Haha)

I can name some:

The Tesseract
Emperor's General
Manduruko (Aswang Wars)
Bleeding The Vein
Moondogs

there are some more but I'll try to recall them.

Well there was a woman author I read one time, she love writing about Philippine "voodoos, manananggal and aswang" I don't remember her name though. (sorry)

The last book I read that was set in Manila was The Blue Afternoon by William Boyd but that was about two years ago. :)

Found this in North Carolina of all places thirteen years ago. Brit writer who lived in Tiwarik Island. Very lyrical prose. Re-reading this year.

There was also this book that was written by oliver galang

i know this doesn't count but Tom Clancy mentions Philippine aspects in his novels, like one primary character's cook is a Filipino, or one character has been stationed in Bataan

Salman Rushdie writes a little about the Philippines in Shalinmar the Clown.

The Ninth Orphan is partially set in the Philippines (in Illocos Norte and Manila). Its plot relates to Yamashita’s gold and the secret activities of former Philippine president, Ferdinand Marcos. The novel exposes massive wealth in the Philippines post WWII which was mostly siphoned out of the country by foreign nations...

It's totally not really related but, Brandon Sanderson's novelette Legion, has Filipino antagonists, the MNLF and Abu Sayaf's mentioned. I really was pleasantly surprised.
