I think a love triangle really adds excitement to a book. The book I am just about to finish has a minor love triangle not really exciting like Twilight where she has a hard time with choosing. I am about to finish North of Beautiful which is dragging on just a tad too long for me. She has a boring boyfriend and they really have nothing in common when she meets Jacob and its instant rapport. She nearly runs over him which is why they met. Their Moms hit it off even more than they do at first!
She takes forever to get to the first kiss so the tension really builds up.
I always liked the love triangle in Gone with the Wind also. She is always in love with Ashley Wilkes as she has idolized him in her mind and holds on to this false image of him for ages.
But Twilight has the best triangle of all as they are both so HOT. I mean you can hardly chose. I tend to vacilate back and forth between the two. I never want to change the story as SM got it just perfect. Anyway, I have rambled on long enough I guess.
What do you think?

I have you read gone with the wind yet? (painful fingers today) Also, add North of Beautiful to you tbr list. Unless something radically changes in the last 20 pages I am giving it 5 stars.

Gone with the Wind

North of Beautiful

Oh, another amazing love triangle is by Graham. The End of the Affair.

The End of the Affair

Her lover is an insensitive idiot so who knows why on earth she takes up with him? I like her husband much better but he is very spineless it seems. If you have read it I would love some feedback.

I think Stephenie did a good job with the love triangle in Twilight. She really kept you guessing on who Bella was going to pick. But in the end Bella made the best chose.

She did keep me guessing! She managed to keep me on tenterhooks almost the whole time. I was always pro Edward but my husband likes Jacob! That blew me away that he thought she should pick Jacob! I am still amazed by that.

I read in the illustrated guide that she did this so there would be two very different worlds for Bella. Jacob wasn't even suppose to happen. Stephenie created him so that Edward didnt come out and say he's a vampire. She made New Moon the way she did to fuel the love triangle and keep us guessing.

I think she was brilliant in how she handled all this.

Yeah I wish I was there to watch her write this series.

Somewhere I read she suffered many agonies over it. I imagine she is doing so now writing from Edward's viewpoint on Midnight Sun. I cannot imagine trying to write from a guy's viewpoint. Men are so weird to me. I cannot begin to understand them.

Yeah it could be hard. But then Edward was the first character she created, and she knew him better than any other character.

She probably knows men fairly well. I grew up with 2 sisters and no brothers so men are very strange creatures to me. I wonder who Edward is based on?
Do you think he is based on Heathcliff at all?

I don't know. I can look at up in my illustrated guide and let you know.
