Roleplay

Tucked away in the busy streets of the center of Vail, there sits a tiny, nice smelling, comfortable cafe. The Employee's are nice, and the environment is even more welcoming. Every night there are local musicians that come to play on the small stage at the far side of the packed cafe.
The rest of the place is filled with tables, couches and chairs, decked out with plenty of places to plug your laptop charger into.
A small part of the cafe is designated only for Guardians or Keepers, and humans are not to sit there.

We enjoy all who come to stay here, so stay for as long as you'd like. You'll find no 'No loitering' signs here!

Ariana had long ago entered her favorite place in Vail, ordered a double chocolate and caramel ice coffee, sat down with her Macbook and her history textbooks and sat to work on a pleasepant study date with herself. She had crossed her legs in the seat and leaned her head against an upproped arm, and let the shine form her laptop light her beautiful face alow.

Her mother had done her makeup early that morning, enhancing her beauty in ways almost unbelievable, and she'd also picked out her outfit, much to Ariana's dismay. She was now clad in a tan tank top that had thin spagetti straps, and a built in bra, pushing her chest up. Her bottom half was covered in tight denim, which made Ariana happy. Her mother could've thrown her in a frilly skirt, which she wouldn't have minded very much, but it was only another day. nothing special was happening. Ariana's hair was piled on the top of her head in a cute bun and her bangs framed her soft face, giving her an all-American look.

Nestled in her private, quiet, and currently empty Guardian and Keeper corner, she worked hard to understand History class for her exam tomorrow. She couldn't afford another low mark for her mother to whine over. She needed a 100, and quick. The only way she was going to get that was to study her little butt off.

Two hours later, Ariana had finished her third coffee and got up from her seat to order another. She hadn't seen anyone in the cafe she knew exept for a couple of other hard working highschoolers she couldn't remember the names of.

Making her way back to her table, she settled down with a new ice coffee, taking another glorious sip as she settled, swishing the coffee around in her mouth. Her lips were coffee flavored by now, and she ran her tongue across the fullness of them, sighing. It would be a long night.

She was thanking God for Google when she heard a small tone go through the cafe, signaling that someone else had enetered. Her head didn't raise, but she sensed the presence of a Keeper.
Keep your head down. Don't give them a reason to seek you out... she told herself.

((Enter Kal. <3 ))

Melissa Kal entered the cafe, his blood still pulsing from his time with Kat. There was just something about her which begged him to push her boundaries, see how far he could push her until she snapped. Of course he would never let it get that far, letting wraiths feed off her wasn't real high on his to-do list. Besides she was a Guardian and what good were they if they were broken?

He ordered the first thing he read off the menu and ignored the flirty cashier girl. He turned and saw his pack's beta wolf and smiled slowly. While it was true that the Witchlight pack wasn't his yet it was only a matter of time. His mother's condition was deteriorating rapidly and once he came of age he knew it was the Keeper's intention to hand the pack over to him and once they did he could finally see just how far he could push Kat.

Pulling his thoughts away from the wolf named Kat he sauntered towards the beta wolf.

Ariana sipped her coffee quietly and kept her head down, sensing a Keeper move around the cafe. She didn't really want to, but she dared to look up through her thick lashes. Maybe it was a Keeper she knew or maybe even didn't dislike. Well, she knew him... That was about all she could say.

Kal. The new Keeper who would be owning their pack in only a few short months. She'd never really talked to him before, but she'd listened to her alpha, Katarina say plently of things about him. He really got under her skin. She raised her head fully then, letting the smirking man know that she knew he was coming. There wasn't any way to avoid it now, and if Ariana was being honest with herself, she didn't really want to avoid it. Any break from her mean History class was welcome, even if it came in snarky Keeper form.
She sat her coffee down and shut her textbook, throwing a smile on her face that improved her already gorgeous features. "Hello. Kal, right?"

message 5: by Melissa (new)

Melissa "You know full well who I am beta." Kal said, plopping down in the chair across from her. The flirty human brought him his coffee and gushed about some nonsense having to do with different flavors of coffee. He waved her off abruptly and she pouted but seemed to get the message and walked off, her hips swaying. He shook his head in disgust, humans were so foolish.

"So beta girl, what brings you to a place like this?" He asked, stretching out to get comfortable.

Ariana didn't know how well she enjoyed being called 'beta'. But Kal was right, she did knowwho he was, and he was higher on food chain than she ever would be, so Beta it was. She inclined her head in a one time nod and raised an elegant eyebrow a the waitress who seemed infatuated eith coffee and handsome Kal. She didn't blame her. Coffee was good, and Kal was more than handsome. But she was only human, and humans didn't talk to people like them.
The waitress got around to noticing Ariana somewhere in her star-dazed glares at Kal and seemed to think she was here with him. Ariana knew it was some od the reason the girl had seemed to dim her fire and leave. They were both scarely beautiful.
Ariana grinned when kal shook his head and directed his conversation back to her. He was making small talk? Why? Ariana was sure Kal didn't do anything unless there was something in it for him, but Ariana reminded herself who she was again. It would be good to be on the good side of Kal.
"This cafe happens to be my part time home." she told him, logging out from Facebook. "And you're here because?"

message 7: by Melissa (new)

Melissa "Not that I have to justify my actions to you, but I was thirsty after speaking with your alpha." Kal said and took a sip of his coffee. He made a face and set it down. The coffee, if it could even been called that, tasted like if had been made with manure rather than coffee beans.

He looked over at the beta girl and wondered why she was beta to his pack in the first place. There didn't seem to be much to her other than her looks which while beautiful meant nothing in the way of fighting. She was small and seemed more content to browse the internet than she did any other time he had seen her, which wasn't more than a handful of times. Though the only pack members he saw on any kind of regular basis were those of the alpha family, including Kat and her sister Anastasia.

Jessamine strode through the door of the cafe, the bell overhead chiming softly as it always did.She enjoyed the atmosphere of the cafe quite a lot,the soft murmurs of people having conversations, the sounds of coffee boiling in pots behind the counter. The cafe soothed her, especially when there was less people.

She walked up to the counter, her long legs walking quite gracefully; which you wouldn't expect if you didn't know she was an alpha. Her boots thumped on the tile flooring softly, and her various rings, necklaces, earrings, and boot chains rattled softly against her body. She liked the few wide eyed stares she got, because it reminded her that she didn't look like the average girl. She liked being unique.

Jessamine looked down at the petite cashier lady and she chuckled, she was right about the generations getting shorter and shorter. She ordered a tall, black coffee;extra hot.She tapped her fingers slightly on the counter in anticipation. She adored coffee, and she loved the feeling when the hot liquid rolled down her throat. When the lady handed it to her,she didn't even give her a mere glance or 'thank you'. She pulled out her wallet and she paid it before walking down the walkway towards the designated area for Guardians and Keepers. She didn't give anyone a mere glance as she strode down the cafe. She thought that humans didn't deserve her praise or thought, because they were useless. They couldn't do anything to protect themselves and she had to be there to do so.

Jessamine walked through the doorway of the designated area and she lounged in a small love seat, instead of sitting. She might as well make herself comfortable. She crossed one leg over the other as she sipped her coffee silently, not even regarding the other people in the room.

Ariana raised her eyebrow, but bit back any rude comments. She didn't have the courage to retort back to Kal, so she settled with taking a drink of her latte and mentally preparing herself for whatever Kat had to say about him later.

Closing the bright screen of her laptop, she turned toward him, giving her full attention to the still smirking boy. He thrust his cup down on the table with a distasteful glance and her eyebrows knit together. "You don't like the coffee?" She asked, hopeful of a subject change from Katarina.
She could feel his cold eyes assessing her. She figured it would come. Every Keeper looked for the power in a Guardian. Not from their human form- which was nothing. But their wolf one. And right now, but the look he had, she sensed he didn't see much there. She would have to change that.
The Keepers needed to know she was strong, and able to keep her Beta leading. She threw her brown eyes onto the label around her coffee mug and waited for his answer.

message 10: by Melissa (new)

Melissa "If you can even call it that." Kal muttered. "This place is lucky it's the only place in Vail otherwise the humans might wise up and actually get good coffee." He said, not caring if any of the staff could hear him. They were just humans anyway, most of them didn't even have the backbone to look him in the eye let alone say anything to him.

He stretched out his arms and crossed them behind his head. He knew he needed to get back home but he'd rather spend time with a Guardian than get back to trying to coax his mother into doing anything other than experimenting. He also knew he should feel guilty for not being there but he couldn't bring himself to care. In his opinion the sooner his mother did something irreparable the sooner he could take over the pack.

Lifting her shoulder in a shrug, Ariana glanced back up at him. "I actually love the coffee here," she told him, matter-of-factly. "Maybe they'll open up another shop soon and you can see if that coffee is any better."
Ariana had had enough. She still wasn't sure why he'd come to talk to her, other than the fact that she was a member of the pack he was soon to own and do what he pleased with. The hair on the back of her neck raised as she remembered that, and she set to work on stacking her study material up to shove it in her bag. "Do you know where Kat is?" she asked, shouldering her bag and grabbing her near empty mug to go pay for another to go.

message 12: by Melissa (new)

Melissa "Hmm." Kal said, pretending to think. "Well she may still be at the library. Or not." He said, smirking. He knew Kat had probably left soon after he had. He stayed seated as his Guardian got to her feet.

(I know it's short but I'm tired right now)

((S'all good, chil'. :) ))

Ariana brushed a whisp of hair away from her face and lost a bit of her courage. Where would Kat be? She peeked in her bag and dug out a her iPhone, pressing the screen for Katarina's number. She didn't asnwer. She must have been busy.
Ariana hung up and pocketed the phone looking back at him. "Well... Thanks for distracting me for a bit. History isn't my strong suit." she said awkwardly. As she turned for the door to leave she absentmindedly wondered if he'd stop her.

((He can or he can't. :) Just suggesting. ))

message 14: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Kal watched her leave, knowing he set her on edge and was probably expecting him to follow her. He had no desire to though, he held no interest in her and she was just a Guardian anyway. Perhaps he should make more of an effort to spend time with his pack, stamp out any mutinous thoughts etcetera but he couldn't bring himself to care. As long as he had the threat of wraiths he doubted there would be many thoughts of rebellion, uprisings or otherwise.

"Beta." He called lazily just as she reached the door. When she turned back with a guarded expression on her face he held his coffee cup aloft. "Throw this away will you?" He said, more of an order than a question.

Ariana was sure she'd make it out alone now, without Kal getting up to follow her. He didn't care that much, but he always seemed to have fun irritating the only people who couldn't snap back. It was a sweet victory sound when the bell rang, meaning she had opened the door to make her escape, but that gloating voice if his mingled with her victory bell and she sighed, turning on her heels to look at him, careful tokeep her eyes from rolling.
"Yes?" she asked.
His coffee cup was raised and a smirk played upon his lips, and she bit her lip, biting back a very nasty statement. "Sure, Kal." she said slowly, walking over to get his coffee cup. As she did cross the floor, she noticed the waitress who'd given him his coffee. She looked hopeful and happy that Ariana was leaving, and while she knew she couldn't call Kal what she was longing to without punishment, she could at least ruin someone's day. As she leaned over his lounging body to retrieve his cup she plastered a fake smile on her face. "I'll be seeing you soon" she said, loud enough for the waitress to hear.
Then, to finish her act, she brought her face very close to his and hoped the girl was still watching as she planted a very soft kiss on his lips. It wasn't passionate, and it wasn't long, but when she rose from her place and brushed hair away from her face, she saw that it was enough to shatter any hope the girl had with him. The look on her face was what Ariana wanted, and she brought a smirk of her own to her lips.

Turning on her heels, she stalked away from the resturaunt- throwing Kal's half-full cup in the bin by the door- and out of the door before anyone could stop her.

((Haha, pleaaaseeee tell me that was okay!!))

Melissa (It was awesome, I love it XD)

Kal watched the beta stalk away with slight disbelief. He hadn't thought her capable of such an action but was pleasantly surprised, and it didn't hurt that she was beautiful. Though if any of the other Keepers had seen she wouldn't be getting away without punishment. Guardians were servants to be used as their masters saw fit, kissing them was expressly forbidden though Kal was willing to let it slide. She had meant no harm to him nor did she expect different treatment because of it.

Kal stayed where he was for a few moments before getting to his feet. He surveyed the humans and realized there was a Guardian among the customers. She wasn't a part of his pack though so she wasn't any concern of his. He shoved his hands in his pockets and sauntered towards the door.

Jessamine smirked slightly at the whole scene unraveling in front of her eyes. She had heard their conversation, and it wasn't like she was snooping because they were saying it out in the open. She knew the beta's thought's quite easily, everything she thought was pretty much playing out on her facial expressions. When she first saw her,she thought she would be quite fragile and she also wondered how she was beta.Though that action right now was enough proof. She was pretty rebellious, not as much as herself, but rebellious enough to be a beta.To kiss a keeper and not even get punishment, well that was pretty rare. She had to admit, the girl had balls.

When Jessamine saw that the Keeper child noticed her,her smirk grew. She loved messing with people, and she didn't care if they were keepers child's.She gave nobody special treatment, and she wasn't going to act differently for anybody."So your going to let a beta do that without a word? Well it shows why you aren't an Elder keeper yet.Not trying to say anything, but you should really control your pack.Their getting a bit...feisty."She said with a small, cynical laugh.

message 21: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Kal smiled with enough ice to freeze a rabid animal. "I'll thank you not to tell me how to run my pack or I may just have to have a word with your Keeper about the place of Guardians." He leaned closer, towering over her despite there only being a three inch difference. "I may not be Elder Keeper but I am still a Keeper and you will treat me as such." He said menacingly.

Jessamine smiled just as sweetly as she could be cynical"Yes dear keeper."She said oh so nicely that you wouldn't even believe that horrid, rude, and devious words could escape her mouth.Oh Jessamine was a great actress, and she could fool any keeper, just as she had done so many times already. She wasn't scared, for the fact that she could act however she liked but when she was actually asked by an elder keeper she could put on the best sweet face she had and fool them into thinking it was a lie. Kal didn't scare her,he was younger than her and she could bet that she could beat him in a fight.Though she wouldn't fight him for the fact that petty fights were childish to her,she loved to taunt people.

message 23: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Kal's jaw worked as he continued to look at her. She might think he was fooled but he wasn't. He had spent most of his life putting on a farce for one person or another which made him excel at spotting others who did the same. But he let her think he was mollified, no use in picking a fight unless he wanted to summon a wraith in front of the humans which was taboo unless completely necessary.

So he took a step back and played the role of satisfied rich boy.

She rolled her eyes, returning back to herself"As I may not fool you,you also do not fool me keeper."She said as she took the last sip of her coffee. She stood, her chained rings and boots jingling slightly"And just as you do not give Guardians special treatment,I also won't treat you differently because you are a keeper."She added before walking out of the small loft. She tossed her cup in the trash and walked out of the cafe, the small bell atop the door ringing.Jessamine mounted onto her motorcycle and she rode away without a single glance towards the cafe.

message 25: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Kal's lip curled in distaste, "I'll have to have a word with Dogwood about his alpha." He muttered. How dare a mere Guardian say such insolent things to him? And not two minutes after lecturing him on controlling his pack. He would have to ask for five minutes alone with the chit at Eden. She wouldn't be so high and mighty after spending time with one of his 'friends'.
