Kristen | 1179 comments Some webcomic creators are against having ads on their websites as they believe that it diminishes the reading experience. Some use ads to support the creation of their comic. How do you feel about the ads on webcomic sites?

Kristen | 1179 comments Ads don't really bother me, as long as they aren't those really annoying ones that flash or follow you around the screen. I view it as a way for me to continue getting the webcomics I love at little to no cost to me. I personally cannot afford to donate or buy merchandise, so it's nice that there is a way for me to support them: clicking on ads.

Dawn | 257 comments Like most ads elsewhere, I can tune out what I'm not interested in. So long as they don't block the comic (which has happened on some & then they have to go harass the advertiser--who isn't always quick to respond, I gather), I really don't care.

And I have found a couple interesting comics by following ads.

Sadie Forsythe I'll agree with the above. I don't really mind ads. Of course I'd love to not have them, but I understand sites and creators need funding from somewhere. But anything with flash, pleading eyes that feel like they track you, sound, or pop ups drive me batty. I will drop sites because of them.

Madeleine Holly-Rosing (mhollyrosing) | 152 comments I'd love not to have ads on my webcomic, but even the few mere pennies it brings in makes me a feel a little better about the money I've sunk into the project.

Boston Metaphysical Society

You do have some discretion on what is posted and I've actually found other webcomics as well as steampunk stuff that interests me because of it.

That's very true. A lot of the ads on webcomic sites are for other webcomics and I have found quite a few new ones by clicking on the ad.
