Okay... I write books and I am a traditional author, so I guess you leave me no choice but to recommend book 1 in my Cozy Paranormal Mystery Series: A Ghost of a Chance. Available everyhwere in e-book and paperback. Why book 1...because it is a series, and it is always best to get in on a series with the first book.Read an excerpt on my web site:

Ok so last week I read Immortal Warrior byLisa Hendrix and was shocked at how engrossed i became in this book. I'm not a fan of historical romances but this one is definitely worth reading.
A few books that I have re-read so many times they are falling apart are:Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward
Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night by Kresley Cole
I haven't tried any of Kresley books yet but I love Z and Bella. Z was my favorite brother from the first time I read about him in Dark Lover I couldn't wait to read his book. Have you read the novella Father Mine. I loved it.
I just finished reading A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole, and I really enjoyed it. There were quite a few parts that really had me laughing.I am currently reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, which is actually non-fiction but reads like fiction. So far it is really good, so I'd recommend that as well.
I'm also another BDB fan. :)
my favorite paranormal romance series is the vampire academy series, i didnt think i would like it but i cant wait for the 4th one to come out.
vampire academy,
u might wanna get more than one, i got the first 2 and i finished them quickly and had to bug my parents to get me the nexxt one.

Michelle your starting this series at the right time because the third book ends on a big cliffhanger and I hated having to wait for the 4th book. So atleast you won't have to wait since it comes out next month.
well, i didnt buy that book but plan to next time. I looked it over and it seemed like something i would like. so next time i get another gift card or discount coupon i'll go get it then. and if i do get hooked at least like you said i wont have to wait on the 4th book!
Ever read Howling Mad? It's about a wolf that gets bit by a werewolf and turns into a man. Very interesting read.

No, never heard of that. It does sound interesting though. Talk about a turn of events since its normally the other way around! I'll have to check it out.

Hello! I just finished Iron Kissed and was brought to tears. There is a controversial ending but I thought it was a fantastic read. Mercy Thompson is one tough chick.
Yes I love Mercy she definitey is a strong character especially how she handled what happened to her.
I too love Mercy. And while it IS controversial, it is handled realistically. Having worked with a few rape survivors in the past, that is NOT something that you get over quickly--or even really ever. There are always lingering reprecussions. Ok, now, for 1 or 2 of MY favourite books.
1) Not PN, but SF--The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein. I think I've worn out 4 or 5 copies of that book. I read it first when I was in 10th grade (we were doing a section on protest lit through the ages, and that's one book we had to read) and I've re-read it almost yearly ever since. To tell you how long ago that was--I have 2 grandkids that are approaching their teen years. :o)
2) This one is fantasy Moon of Three Rings Altho it could be a bit sci-fi too, since it is set in the far future and includes aliens as well as humans and various mutations of humans (many hundreds of years on other planets and in outer space has resulted in some interesting variants of human)
3) I second Howling Mad a GREAT book. it has a were-wolf a were-human (the wolf who was bitten by the were-wolf) a vamp and a gypsy curse.
Um, ok, better quit while there are only 3 books here. I could go on listing for HOURS. :o)
I have just read both Moon Called and Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs, and I just couldn't put them down! They were just great reads, and I'm currently halfway done with Iron Kissed, and I'm loving that too and just wanted to share!
I MUST tell you all that I just finished the first 6 books of the BREED series by Lara Adrian. If you haven't read these, they are a MUST READ

As for recommendations, I'm going to recommend a couple of my favorite books from last year:
the third book in the Kate Daniels series, which also includes Magic Bites and Magic Burns. This series just gets better with every book, and Magic Strikes was brilliant. They do a wonderful job of character development and have created a unique and wonderful world full of strange and unusual bad guys. Love it!
is the fourth book in Rachel Vincent's Shifter series, which also includes Stray, Rogue and Pride. I adore this series and found this book to be the best yet and one of the most emotional reads I've ever been sucked into. It's left me incredibly impatient for the next release.

Have you read Karen Marie Moning? Highlander and Fever series?
I love KMM Fever series I have the Highlander in ebook form but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I didn't know SOM was out. I gotta go check Rhapsody bookclub for it.
Um, ok, better quit while there are only 3 books here. I could go on listing for HOURS. :o) i>Ann I hope you don't mind but I noticed you enjoy PN and SF so I wanted to recommend
The Knife of Never Letting Go
by Patrick Ness.Although it's a YA book it appeals to all ages. In fact just last year I recommended it to 5 friends and 2 total strangers in my local book store who LOVED IT.

Ooh, I have The Knife of Never Letting Go on my to-buy list, as I've read a few good things about it. Glad to see another recommendation.
Silvana got quite a few of mine covered, and others were mentioned by some of the familiar faces on here.Syhren, you need to read the Kresley Cole IAD books! That's an order. :)
I love occult detective novels, aka Magic Noir, especially with a male lead. I would recommend the Cal Leandros books by Rob Thurman, the Harry Dresden books by Jim Butcher, the Nightside series by Simon R. Green, and the Connor Grey series by Mark Del Franco, to name a few. Have a bunch of other ones on my tbr pile.

Ok here's a recommendation for everyone not sure if any of you have read this series but I am really enjoying it.
I would have to say these would fall in the chicklit genre and are super funny give them a try if you haven't already they are worth the time.

I just finished
and I have to say that is one of the best books I've read in awhile. I thought the Twilight series was pretty good, but The Host blew it right out of the water!
